Well, I did envision that the studies would come to an end as I am not working towards baptism. I guess that she found a gentle way to end the studies. It still hurts, though.

You said six months ago that she cried about ending the study then because you weren’t progressing.

You can continue learning if you attend the meetings, either at the KH or on Zoom.

Anyone who offers a free Bible study, say no thanks! And run! Something I wish my parents should of done.

@stan livedeath and wannaexit, I am not a troll. What I have shared is my actual lived experience, and what I am currently going through. Why is it so difficult to believe that my post is real?

@Sea Breeze, Jehovah’s Witness call their teaching, “the truth.” I cannot explain to you what the truth or what the good news is as I have already shared that I do not believe the Jehovah’s Witness religion to be the true religion. What I am saying is that I have enjoyed the studies and the time that I spend with my Bible Study conductor. I am fond of her and have found her to be a support to me. I don’t want the studies to come to an end, and I don’t want the time that I spend with her to come to an end either. However, I am not going to pursue becoming an unbatized publisher and then a witness. I’m sure that to the members of The Kingdom Hall, I am someone who they need to guard themselves from as I could possibly tarnish them.

@Jeffro, no, Jehovah’s Witness Bible Study are not obligation free. There is an expectation for the study to become a witness and if the study does not become a witness, the witnesses will begin to distance themselves from the study.

@Jeffro, that did happen. My Bible Study Conductor did cry during one of our studies. She questioned me as to why I had not progressed. I did not progress because I did not believe the Jehovah’s Witness religion to be the one true religion. However, I wasn’t going to say that to her. If I had said such a thing, most likely I would have been labeled an apostate.

Um… yeah… I know. And you were given the same information 6 months ago.

Now and also six months ago the duration of the study was described as about 2 years, so from those details we could reasonably assume that it is now about 27 months since the start of the study. It was also suggested previously that the study usually goes for 2 hours, sometimes 2 and a half hours. But you’re only just up to chapter 48. That is indeed slow progress. You were told 6 months ago about the emotional manipulation inherent in the study and 5 months ago you said they were hateful of other religions. But you don’t actually seem to be any better off than you were 6 months ago. The book length is finite and will inevitably end either way. Best advice… get other friends and quit the study.

@Jeffro, I began my study January 2023, and yes, the studies began at 2:00pm and would often end at 5:00pm but never before 4:00pm. And, no, what she said to me 6 months ago has not changed and what I said 6 months ago has not changed either. And, yes, I am on Lesson 48 which is the last section, Section 4. Again, you are correct, I am not any better now compared to 6 months ago as far as life wise. The same ills that I had back then, are the same ills that I have now. Which is what brought me to the study in the first place as I was going through emotional distress and was looking for a way out. I thought that I would find solace in getting to know God and growing closer to him. Nevertheless, I do agree with you. For her sake and for mine as well, the best approach is for the study to end. As can be clearly seen, the study does present to be reaching its end.

For the record, I don’t believe that the story is entirely truthful, with various telltale signs in presentation. However, the general advice stands either way.

What purpose would I have in making up a story? There are no telltale signs because it is my lived experience.
