Throwing out Old Watchtowers

  I don't know how many of you know this, but the Society used to sell binders to put your magazines in which would save you having to get the bound volumes. They used to be really nice dark blue binders with "Watchtower" and "Awake" printed in gold on the spine. I spent hours organizing my mother's WTs and Awakes into these things. Now the Society just gives cheap beige plastic square containers to store the magazines.
  

  Would she happen to have an original copy of the Jan. 1, 1989 Watchtower?

  My mother probably has a copy of that Watchtower, but I doubt she has an extra. She's been using the binders/boxes since the mid-eighties.

  When I was disfellowshipped, most of my things were still in the French Bethel (I had resigned from there a few months before). I went back there to take some of them, but of all the books I just kept the Bible translations. My car (an old French "deux chevaux") was the only home I had at that time, and I couldn't take everything anyway. So I picked the first guy who came by (he didn't know me, for he was a new Bethelite) and gave him my whole WT library (including very old books). He was kind of surprised, but obviously happy!

  I know someone who wouldn't part with the bound volumes ever after getting the CD, their whole reason for getting the CD was so they could cut down on the number of bound volumes they kept..

  Yeah, I used to feel bad whenever I threw them out. Now, I look forward to it. :) I especially enjoyed gathering up those atrocious Isaih books we spent three years studying and burning them.

  I threw out my bound volumes, books and mags... out the window of my pick-up while driving across the K-hall parking lot at 20 miles an hour! Maverick

  Considering I just DA'd last week and I have only been inactive 3 years (even went to the District Convention this year), I still have much guilt about throwing out any of the publications. Yet, since I am not going to be reading them anymore (I am starting to see more & more unethical things in just the way they are published), I guess I should either throw them out or drop them off at the Kingdom Hall for someone else to use...then again, that would be helping to spread a lie, hmm? Man, can't believe how smart I am and yet I didn't see through so many of these things...
