i kindof feel sorry for "You Know". i think he's one of the "weirdo's" at the hall. he probably has no friends in the congregation and is lonely. at least he doesn't try to come across like a Christian. what you see is what you get. i wish i would have met a JW like you 10 years ago. I wouldn't have any regrets now if i had. keep up the good work "you know". by being yourself you'll save countless from being caught up in a cult.....jurs

Excuse me if, in this thread, I address this to the forum in general.

As Comf and others have recently mentioned, a big part of the reason / You Know posts on this forum is to accrue his own sense of martyrdom. Until now this personal agenda has been fulfilled by getting beaten for defending the indefensible Watchtower. His bile and invective against 'apostates' has been accepted as 'part of the game' by most. But having overstepped the bounds of decency, and probably of law as well, he should step back: this demands an APOLOGY.

In this thread (on page 1) he has been setting himself up for a full-scale martyrdom. He has said apostates are trying to shut him up. I for one -- and I am far from alone -- would prefer for someone of YK's obviously unchristian character to remain on this board as he does far more against his cause than for it. He has been painting this as an issue about God and JWs and 'apostates': it is nothing of the sort. Had I (or any other 'apostate') written those vile words to Tallyman, I'm sure I would have been treated similarly. But I would have apologised straightaway, especially if I was in YK's precarious situation.

And what has this treatment been? Demands for an apology. There's nothing strange about that, nothing 'apostate' or Christian - just accepted normal behavior. / You know has been given a number of opportunities to correct his public gaff with a public apology - again nothing strange there, no sneaking about, no attempt to draw him out into saying something more actionable - and what? Nothing but weaselling and manoeuvring like his 'brothers' in power at Brooklyn.

I was glad when he returned to posting on this site. But this episode has changed my feeling entirely. He deserves to be punished.

And there's no martyr mileage in it. None at all.

I still hold to my position that your intent was little more than rallying the troops to join you in your battle against You Know. I would suggest you consult again with your lawyer as to what constitutes libel/slander.

You are still reprehensible in your conduct and tone here. I know this means nothing to you but your methods and style are repulsive to any sane person. This doesn't mean I agree with mob attacks against you but you certainly are not a blameless victim.

If it was Tally's intent to simply warn the board as far as where the line is drawn.... then why the hell would he do so asking a 3rd party for an opinion as to whether or not things had indeed gone too far? tally is a smart man. He knows how to get all his little schoolyard soldiers to line up for him.

In fact there are a few online persona that frequent the jw boards that are quite adept at manipulating others to fight their battles for them...not all of them are obvious trolls either.

Has it actually been forgotten who it was that cast the first stone of offense here? I'm talking solely about the words between Tallyman and /You Know. Before /You Know had said anything at all to Tallyman, this is what Tallyman had said to him:

Honestly, I can’t really imagine any Lawyer being willing to defend you here, Tallyman … especially since you had been the first one to accomplish the very thing (slander) that you are complaining about.

I'll honestly tell you, my fine-feathered friend, Tallyman, after the way you come on to /You Know I'm really surprised that you have the audacity to register a complaint, even here on this forum. What I’m not surprised about is that you had supporters that never seems to have considered the points that I have brought up here.

Evidently you do not know the law. What You Know said was libel, for legally Tom is not a "murderer." To call You Know:

is not libelous, however, merely insulting. You Know freely admitted his LSD past. Now if You Know had never taken LSD, you'd have a point. But since he had, you don't. Not under the law, in any case, however rude you might take it.
