Fark, looked all over for YK's "apology"

Just really curious, reading through this.

I seem to remember reading something about libel and discussion boards et. al., but not neccesarilly here. Does anyone actually know the legal standpoint? My recollection of the article that I read was that it was basically a hopeless legal situation for any number of reasons, and that the chances of getting a conviction were very very low based on legal principles, let alone the indicidual case.

I think any sane person's opinion of YK would be obvious, so I don't want to be seen as supporting the poor creature, but even if he was libelous and his name and address were common knowledge, and it could be proved they came from his PC and that he typed those words in, going to court would just be making money for lawyers.

As for YK sueing, for what? Smelling shit and saying, 'Mmmm, that smells like shit?'

I would recommend you sue each one of us individually YK. Just so you can add the humiliation of being laughed out of a lawyer's office to your list of reasons why you're obviously chosen of God.

Isn't it funny how 'they're persecuting me, I must be favoured of god' runs around some peoples' heads, when they really should be thinking 'they're persecuting me, I must be an asshole'?

    Friday,

Whatever. At the end of the day, You Know is back-peddling like a clown cycling along a tightrope watching the end working loose.

He knows he went too far and is trying to save face. What amazes me is that the guy who has all the gen on him is being magnaminous enough to give him some slack.

    Englishman.

..... fanaticism masquerading beneath a cloak of reasoned logic.

    Abaddon,

I'm with you; I think it is hard to prove libel on the discussion board. That hasn't stopped corporations from making the attempt to sue individuals who have said negative things about their company. Things far less than You Know has said. So there is certainly precendent for taking this to court, if that is what Tally wants to do. Whether it is the correct thing, or legally enforceable, is another matter.

However, there is an action that is much more easily proved and enforceable: sending You Know's words and identity to Brooklyn. They get one look at how often he has implied unfaithfulness on their part, or disagreed with what they say in print, and he's gone. No legal court needed for that.

Although I've said I'm not in favor of such an action, if it were to happen there would be a certain poetic justice to it all. We always said You Know was the biggest apostate of all. Brooklyn would just make it official.

Right. Theocratic suicide. Shunning. Branded as a spreader of "Apostasy." I doubt that YK would ever get reinstated if his collected works were forwarded to Brooklyn and his local CO, and DO. I could do that if I wanted, too.

After YK's latest insanity and intractability and refusal to show the least bit of common decency, I've decided he's too lost to harm any further. I'm not going to turn him in, nor am I going to reveal his whereabouts, even though I know and he knows that I know who he is and where he is. Let him continue to show his JW-induced bile if he chooses. I've decided to show him that former JWs have infintely more ethics and integrity than the likes of him and his fellow dubs.

It's almost as if he's begging to be outted. He may be a masochist, but I'm no sadist.

We all know that while Tom killed his brother, he didn't murder his brother. It was unfortunate and it was self-defense. A jury who heard ALL the evidence unanimously said so. The judge ridiculed the prosecutors for their idiocy in even bringing him up for murder charges.

Anyone who is REALLY interested in the evidence could easily obtain it. It's public information.

Tom, you're a far better human than YK, and so am I. Let that be our "justice" towards him.

I am impressed with your attitude, Farkel, and I applaud it. I tried to make one last attempt to reason with You Know in this thread and we saw the results. Although he did give a sort of apology to me, he simultaneously made fun of my reaction to his words about me, and stated that he owed nothing to anyone else. That is when I knew he was beyond hope, for he was running scared at that time. When the chips are down, and a person is running scared, we begin to see their true character. Though he became a bit more contrite, he still stubbornly held to his guns.

Of course, now that you have said you won't turn him in, I expect he'll return with in full bluster mode and deny he ever ran scared. Those of us who know him well, however, know what we saw these last few days.

If he has any human decency left within him, he should thank you, Farkel.

Come off of it, Fartkel, you never seriously had either one of those things in mind in the first place. You just like to hear yourself brag. And neither was Tallyman serious. You're both nothing but a couple of big bluffos. He's quite obviously your next of kin. I can just hear your powwit right now just-uh-singin' ... "Hi uncle Tallyman, would you mind changin' the paper out in the bottom of my cage, my master is always so busy plunkin' on that silly ole piano that he won't take the time to clean up my shit."

    Sneeeeeker

I can definitely see the justification in /You Know having dubbed you "Sneeker".

In the face of my having said:

Has it actually been forgotten who it was that cast the first stone of offense here?--Yadirf

    Your comeback was:

Evidently you do not know the law.

Quite clearly you are not only pro-apostate, as well as a God- dishonoring apostate yourself, but you are a sneeky one at that. You slithered right on out around my point, Sneeker. Since you have earned the name "Sneeker", you shouldn't whimper anymore when you hear me address you as such. Until you change and stop your sneaking around, I will continue to annoy you with that name -- a name that fits YOUR character.

SixofNine said (and quite accurately): “Ah ha! YK prepares for the religious nut/insanity defense, lol.”

Unfortunately, it may just prove to BE a valid defense, as he IS a religious nut, and very likely, demonstrably insane as well – in the dictionary sense of being “utterly senseless and irrational.” We’ll leave the “voices in the head” part for the shrinks to evaluate.

But what I think is really going on, is that YK is wriggling on the hook, trying to justify to himself his failure to approach his elders with his awareness of this situation. After all, it could be viewed in this case that the JW’s most scared cow of all is being gored by his actions: Jehovah name is being reproached. If in his “mind,” no sin is/was committed, then no action is required on his part. When as we all know, in reality, it is his OBLIGATION to come forward and let OTHERS in authority make a determination as to his guilt and reprehensibility before his God, Jehovah.

I laugh as I write this, because it’s obvious that YK sees himself as being above such insignificant things as proper theocratic procedure. It doesn’t apply to him; he makes his own rules.

How about some thoughts on this?

    On another subject:

And Friday . . . I saw a recent post where someone claimed you were 61 years old and “anointed.” I was ROLFL after seeing that one. Up to now, I’d taken you to be 15 at the most. The angry little child in you comes through so loudly in your rants, that it colors your whole persona with wide brush strokes of juvenile imbecility (this thread being no exception).

    Yadirf,

I have no idea what you are talking about. My response to you was as straightforward as can be. How you can view that as sneaky is beyond my understanding. Perhaps you can explain it in detail, since what you said to me didn't provide me with any clues.

So as far as your libelous use of Sneeker goes, you are still without cause.
