Are We Powerless To Beat The Watchtower At Its Own Game?

I believe once out, there's no fighting back. Fighting against what?! Liberation from the claws of the Org is the glorious crowning after the long fight, IMO.

I like to think that we can beat the Watchtower by getting to their believers. According to the talks and magazines, the Society's obsessed with the internet and "apostates". If we continue to use this medium---it will slowly but surely help people get out of their false religion!

    Hey Min,

I see your enjoying your day off ...ya bastard. Me too.

    About your comment. I agree.

The other day in a thread, many said it was not apostates that got them out, but rather their own dissatisfaction with the organisation. This has been the case with many.....however there is plenty here that will attest to the fact, that it was sites like these and others, that aided them out. I also see the internet becoming one of the society's biggest obstacles........and there not a damn thing they can do about it. I hope to live to see them crumble.

When people are dissatisfied with the organization, they are more apt to check the internet. But, very few will look into the net if they are serious JWs. They can't disobey the organization, now can they? But unless a person is immune to ALL that goes on in the congregation and the organization, they can't help but have an open eye and ear to what "opposers" have to say. I really believe we are obliged to use this medium to help people learn the truth about the "truth" and begin to enjoy life NOW.

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

There is very little point of fighting the WT. Trying to defeat it only makes their resolve stronger.... which isn't any good for anybody.

I agree with other posters here.... that the borg will implode upon itself, but it will not happen real soon, I don't think... there are too many weak people who think that they need it's support.

I think there is an extremely successful movement against the Watchtower..........not that it's some kind of organization itself.

Now you can read virtually any secret document, letter, etc. put out by the Governing Body........the elder's manuals even. At our last elder's school.......it was mentioned if anyone wanted a new book (the elder's Pay Attention) they might as well just download the whole thing from the internet.

It's evident that some of the "apostates" must be getting good information regularly right from the Bethels themselves at times.

I'm not the only one who has stumbled on this type of information...........even our CO must be perusing either watchtowernews.org, or this website, because some of the examples he gave were word for word what was being discussed (it was a current lawsuit).

If your remarks are correct, that's quite an achievement.

It's possible that many elders and C.O.'s will retain their positions but quietly give up internally.

The weight and sterility of Witness life together with no reform will beat them down. That remark about

    downloading is very powerful.

Before I had a home computer, a friend of mine that is the Service Dept. stayed over my house. He was almost going out of his mind because he wanted to get on a computer. He trusted me with very inside Bethel info as well as comments that were critical of the organization which he would always say with a chuckle. I'm convinced he was a reader of these types of boards. I think such types of people stay at Bethel because all though they "know", they have no place else to go, literally.

That must be terribly frightening. To know it's all a sham, but have no skills, no home. Even worse, to have been sheltered from the outside world for years. It would be very hard to get out in the world with little or no social skills. How awful to be trapped by your own fear and so under the thumb of a mean organization.

Funny you should ask this question - I'm in the process of creating a brochure to give out to the local churches and christian bookstores. It's designed to help people "witness" to a witness who comes to their door. How to fight the WT? In their own neighborhood - where else?

Actually - I don't see the use in fighting the WT - as many mentioned here - they will crumble on their own. I just want to reach out and help those who are ready to leave and need an extra hand, support, information, whatever. I also want to get the information out to others who might actually be interested in the JW religion before it's too late.

I figured a quick read (brochure) that is given out free might do the trick.
