Dawn, I believe Rob Bowman has a book named "How to Witness To A Jehovah's Witness" or something like that. Wilbur Lingle (sp) also has a little booklet that does the same type of thing, if that helps.

I think the best way we can fight against the Watchtower is to encourage everyone in our "territory" to buy a computer (or go to their library) and go online.

I've said this before but Soviet Communism fell apart NOT because people started to riot ( that came later)
but because the 'nomenklatura' ( the people in the know , like Bethelites and C.O.'s) lost all faith in the system.

I agree that sites like this one are doing a very good job at toppling the Tower. It may not get to the hardcore believers but once they want to get out and to learn some personal experiences from past members, or even get some good links to help them on their way, they will go to places like this.

"Hardcore believers" will probably always remain that way. But some that we might think are "hardcore believers" might in fact have many doubts inwardly.

We do not need to fight back. We just continue what we are doing- we have debates on this forum -- lurkers will lurk -- some will check things out for themselves -- there will be more and more apathy amongst the JWs -- younger ones in particular -- some "less adavnced countries" will get the internet so even in countries with growth, the word will spread. Court cases on Child Abuse issues will get published and shown on TV -- Apostates wil get interviewed in documentaries -- even loyal Dubs will get to hear about them -- even the most blind and deaf will start thinking "There can be no smoke without fire" in other words they will not believe the B-------t put out by the WTBTS.
History shows that regimes built on control and not on freedon eventually die out. There is freedom of information on this board --by and large we are good and do not reveal each others identity -- The Truth Sets Us Free -- the truth will triumph -- history has shown that truth and freedom triumph in the end -- minimus we do not need to play the Watchtowers game -- we just need to be patient and carry on doing what we are doing.

If the exs will show a superior personality, not nasty, not vicious, etc. but kind, considerate, empathetic that will go a long way to fighting back. Witnesses are told repeatedly how horrible almost everyong is who isn't a Witness, demonstrating that's a lie makes a big difference.

so true so true, while i fully understand why some former jw go off as it were, esp after realizing what the wt has done to our lives they many times lash out against the closest thing to wt and that is the poor rank and file or elder who comes to this site- as a jw i was told and as and elder I TOLD others that apostates were like FOAMING AT THE MOUTH MAD DOGS- the reason is because of what i recall at the district convention as a kid- some former jw were protesting out front and we were told NOT TO EVEN LOOK AT THEM. but i just couldn't I felt like Lots wife in fact i thought something would happen to me as i look back out the rear window of the car i recall seeing a little kid about my age holding a placard and a man shouting : THEY ARE LYING TO YOU LEAVE NOW- and he was so passionate that he was spitting and it was like he was FOAMING AT THE MOUTH and that image stayed in my head for years, then when i went to bethel i was introduced to the famous bethel apostate- called MR COFFEE who stood out front of bethel and yelled at the bethelites each morning like clockwork some other bethelites who post here can tell you some stories about Mr Coffee and he too would have bloodshot eyes and spitting as he yelled at us each morning so when a jw comes to a site like this with all that prejudging baggage we should welcome them with open arms as jw we were trained to be kind to folks, to make folks at ease well we can use that same technicque catch more flies with honey than vinegar they come here expecting us to show our A$$, and sad to say that is what we often times end up doing,including myself but we need to be bettter behaved in my view- because it totally difusses them from what they expect= but it is hard to do, unless one makes an effort to do so

excellent point someone correct me if i am wrong but to my knowledge the KM insert on THE DANGERS OF THE NET--with 34 paragraphs is the longest InserT to my knowledge, even longer than the district convention one in jan the net is a major concern for the simple reason it offers OPEN KNOWLEDGE AND INFO which by any ones definiition of a high control group is rule number one CONTROL THE FLOW OF INFO and that is what the wt does
