If it wasn't for the Truth why would anyone be moral?

The JWS never really explain WHY fornication, adultry, lying etc are just generally not in our best interest.. I found that once i understood the reasons behind such things, well it wasn't just "don't do this or u will get DF"; i read different viewpoints and talked to my therapist and amazingly, many people find those behaviors unacceptable and don't do them, and it has nothing to do with the Bible or getting DF.

The WTS drives people to immoral behavior at times bc they don't allow us to have human feelings and just screw up without the fear of DF. A lot of young girls/boys would soon notice that they were getting the raw end of the deal when it comes to fornication, or loose conduct. If the JW kids were allowed to just screw up without facing a firing squad, they would learn very quickly it pays to be very selective about who u have sex with, and u may just want to not have sex at all.

Same with the occult. The WTS ensures an unusual interst in it.

So now i do things b/c they are in my best interest, not b/c i will get df if I don't.

Your supposed "pleasure principle" is not what I was talking about. People largely do things for selfish reasons. Self-preservation, praise, a feeling of self-worth, status, worship....

I'm not 100% convinced of it myself but, I find it a very interesting concept.

Given your views earlier I would think you should say you are nature over nurture, actually

Allright nitpicky one. I did clarify that I meant in that one particular regard I was slightly in favor of nurture vs. nature. Don't twist my words little boy or "It's on!"

I actually agree with you. I do believe that people who brazenly screw everything except the kitchen sink are hurting themselves, but that doesn't necessarily make them immoral.

I prefer a life of 'hot and sour' sensuality.
