This is of course, a very silly thread. I have to say that as an atheist......and probably a very staunch non believer. I really miss god. Why did he have to stop existing? The twit!!
Here's a favourite song of mine as the reality messes me up again....

Yahweh (/ˈjɑːhweɪ/, or often /ˈjɑːweɪ/ in English; Hebrew: יהוה) was the national god of the Iron Age kingdoms of Israel (Samaria) and Judah.[2] His origins are unknown, although they reach back to the early Iron Age and even the Late Bronze:[3] his name may have begun as an epithet of El, head of the Bronze Age Canaanite pantheon,[4] but the earliest plausible mentions are in Egyptian texts that place him among the nomads of the southern Transjordan.[5
If you want to believe in Yahweh shouldn't you know his history?
Sounds like it time to copy/paste the unassailable, invincible thread....

A lot of people are waking up to all religions
Actually, I don't hold it against somebody to believe in God. It could be a weakness, but it could be a strength. If it helps them, good for them!

Fair comment, but when they make assertions about reality they should have the intellectual honesty to hold an honest conversation about it.
I am sure that fear is at the root of all religious faith. Fear of the future, fear of the vicissitudes of life, fear of moral ambiguity, fear of death, fear that nobody is actually in control of the big picture.
Sadly that insecurity plays out as a need to threaten others who don't share the same false certainties.
