Gordy, I was so sorry to hear about your son. Now that is a dangerously low blood count. I'm surprised that it was totally from being anemic, as usually this is an indication of internal bleeding inside the body.
Well, I'm glad they were able to get his blood count up again. He should be feeling so much better. My mom is anemic, and they can't get her blood past 11-12 even with these special iron shots. She tried just with diet, and it seems her body just doesn't metabolize as it should.

He was in hospital for a week.
He has just had a check up this week, his blood count is now 11.8
Up to now they have not found out what caused the anaemia. They did internal examinations and x-rays but could find no internal bleeding.
He has to go for more tests in three weeks.
