what i mean is that stories like Cinderella make children reflect on envy, hard work, unfairness in children's literature while telling an enjoyable story too. These themes crop up in adult fiction too - I can't think of a film at the moment.
But I wonder if such stories equal the power of ancient stories to enable us to transcend and overcome difficulties? to keep hope alive?
