I think it's just another move to sell halls. They know very well they don't have enough brothers to do the work. And specially in ten years. GB have only been dismantling org and congregation arrangement. This been going on for last 13 years or more. Okej fine sell halls. They gonna do it either JWs want or not. But at least share money with congregations. It's their free labour that made everything possible.

    Free labor.

That's the entire concept on retaining membership. Without this the Borg cant survive.

Hellothere, when in, I used to think how well off all JW would be if everything was sold and the money evenly divided

Kerry King that is just what l was going to say. There was probably an issue in that particular congregation. Where Christian congregations had been established in areas where traditionally pagan gods had been worshipped it may have been a very different set up .

If Temple prostitutes had been the norm those women may not have liked their loss of status and could have been causing problems. That is just one possible scenario that could have prompted Paul to give that instruction.

On the subject of husbands and wives in his letter to the Ephesians Paul says " husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself "

"Sister Jane, thank you so much for doing a great job with the audio-visual equipment, but Jehovah has recently reminded the Governing Body that female Regular Pioneers are inferior to unbaptized little boys who place at least one magazine per month. So we're removing your privileges from you and giving these to your 9-year-old son Caleb. As his mother, you can object. But you would do wise to humbly follow the direction that Jehovah has provided."

It’s a shame that god didn’t make sure that he used his powers to make sure we had the right info. It just seems weird that the guy who created the universe has no way of letting humans know that he wants women to have all the same privileges as men. 2000 years and no updates, addendums or cc:’s

JWs emphasize the headship of the husband over the family. When your organization is based on the authority given to men by god himself, it's easy to see how that can be abused. A wife who seeks help when her husband is being domineering and selfish has to deal with men who are hesitant to undermine that authority (especially when they also benefit from it). She is often told to grin and bear it, since the New System is around the corner and all of these flaws will fade away and soon her husband will be the very model of a perfect man.

God cursed Eve with 'your craving will be for your husband but he will dominate you', historically men translated that as 'she wants to have a monogamous marriage but I can do what I like while she has to be faithful to me alone', what it actually means is that women crave respect and recognition from their men.

This doesn't mean that men don't have the choice to behave better, Jesus obviously thinks they can and so did the Apostles, but men prefer to interpret God's words as a licence for bad behaviour.
