I heard that in some states it is legal to carry a side arms (GUNS).. as long as it is visible....

so, I f you see someone come out of a corner store in the Carolinas with a revolver strapped to their side don't be alarmed..

Somebody correct me on that if I am wrong.

*LOL* Special K...Actually most handgun owners who have a permit to carry a weapon don't display it openly. Rural and moutainous areas are far more likely places to see such a thing, since most businesses, bars, federal, local buildings prohibit even having them on their property.

    Sincerely,

You could come to New Jersey, and I'll give you the Sopranos tour...

Do ya mean a tour of film locations for the Sopranos....or is this a one way ride in the trunk of a car?

If ya make it into the Carolinas call me and I'll take ya to dinner and give ya the military tour. PM has my number for ya.

    Are you sure Valis?

I was told you can carry guns in North and South Carolina...and that it is not unusally to see some folks carrying a pistol holster.

I know, Valis... I am niaeve...

    sincerely

HS: Kansas? Well, I could pretty that sentence up no end, but that might mean someone would go there...

... hell, every time I tell an American I went to Kansas they frown and say 'why?'. When we flew into Wichita the flight attendant said "we'll be landing at Wichita airport presently, though none of us can imagine why you'd want to go there".

Just remember that most Americans are armed and after 5 PM had too much to drink. So don't piss anyone off! Maverick

I'm planning a road trip down the western side of the staes for a month next year, I'm from the same area as Celtic and am looking for the same sort of things.

My plan was to start in Oregon, drive south to California and visit LA, SF and anywhere else interesting on my way to Baja. Of course I am planning to take a couple of days out to visit the grand canyon and Las Vegas.

How feasible does this sound given that I could probably only spare 4 weeks vacation time? How expensive is it to stay in motels/backpackers hostels?

    Depends on whether he squeals....

I was thinking of the former, though.

For an interesting road trip, for those that like the offbeat and off-the-wall, visit the following link, truly a slice of crazy American tourist spots. I love it!

For stunning scenery, the Colorado Rockies is truly, to me, the most spectacular! Of course, I still have yet to visit Washington and Oregon!
