Yes , it would be very easy and very tempting to tell them exactly what to do, and where to go.
The question is, not that they have any control over us any more - but rather they have control over our family. Control because these family members are prepared to give it to them. One edict from the three unwise men of a judicial committee and our loved ones will meekly follow instruction and turn the cold shoulder onto us , for ever.
That is not a happy prospect. At fifty turned I have no wish to divorce and start over .. We can be free. I would love to tell them exactly where they are going wrong , but there is real power in the Borg if people chose to give it to them ...

Even though I got disfellowshipped, I was still under the influence of the elders. When we hung lights on the house, we hung white ones on the outside tree and then white lights going down the stairs and around the front of the house ..........which was not visible from the street. The garage side of the house which was visible, well we hung lights but again, white lights and no xmas decorations outside either.
When I moved to a new neighborhood, 40 miles away, I know that no one knows me here. Like Sassy said, I'm just a neighbor. We could decorate as we pleased and I put 4th of July flags up, Thanksgiving decorations and then Xmas decorations. I love putting a few things out like pumpkins in my flower beds or a witch leaping out of the bushes. It was just fun and I have no one to condemn me or shun me.
When I moved, I got more than a new house..........I bought my life back.
