Knowing what he must know, I simply can’t believe this Watchtower lawyer Polidoro really believes in Jehovah’s Witness theology. I just can’t believe it.

Being a jw lawyer is just a secure, well paying job for him and jw is his lifestyle choice.

He seems slightly more honest than the Canadian Watchtower lawyer was.

I thought Vincent Toole had his registration removed by the Australian law society due to serious misconduct (e.g not reporting child abuse), after appearing in the ARC.

Can this be verified by anyone ? I think its too good to be true joe134cd though I would be happy if it was true.

The same as I don`t believe any of the Elders who sat on JC of child sexual abuse and never reported the crime to any of the appropriate authorities have ever been charged for failing to do so even though the ARC knew of over 1006 cases involving up to 3018 elders.?

    Why not ?

Having listened to the audio of the case - a case which the org has allegedly brought on the grounds of copyright infringement - why didn't D.S.'s legal team request that the org's case be thrown out, based on the following two points?

    1) In the first instance, D.S. was legally covered by "fair use" legislation, therefore, there were no grounds for copyright claims.

    2) crucially - in the second instance, (at 4:25 secs) the judge stated that DS committed NO copyright infringement, it was simply a confidential document, not a copyrighted one.

Maybe someone can explain if there's something I'm missing here, but if I was a juror in a case like this, I would say the court action was specious & malicious.

The most disturbing part for me was the discussion about disfellowshipping between the judge and Polidoro. She asked if people were casually disfellowshipped (or something to that effect) of if there was a process. Polidoro said, "yes, there is a process". Amazingly, the judge seemed impressed that there was. Polidoro then goes into a fake example of someone stealing. He said that if after trying to restore a person from stealing, they would have to disfellowship him if he wanted to continue stealing. What a load of goose butter. No one gets df'd for stealing I'm sure.

Why didn't he tell her about the thousands who have been shunned for thought crimes like not believing the GB is the sole spokesman for God on earth?

Why not tell her that even if a person just tries to fade away they are still shunned?

Why not tell her that though-control inquisitions are routinely held for the sole purpose of determining if a person still believes their god-like prophetical claims or not? And, if they don't - their loved ones are prohibited from seeing them lest they too get df'd. ?

The attorney for Darkspilver was weak in my opinion. You don't go to a gun fight with a knife. He needed a bigger (and probably more expensive) lawyer. She at least needs to read some testimonies from those like us who have been shunned for thought crimes.

A good lawyer could have baited the judge into asking Polidoro if its true that people are disfellowshipped for no longer believing that the WT is God's Sole Channel of Communication on earth. It would have been awesome to get Polidoro's answer to that question on record.

Does anyone have an address for this judge? I'd really like to write her a letter too. I think we all should.

She should hear some testimony on the shunning "process" that this judge was so impressed with.

The Papacy had an elaborate disfellowshipping process at one time too - burn at the stake anyone who dared disagree with their authority.

Sea Breeze, can you give me a brief template to guide me in writing a letter to that judge?

Sea Breeze - I think it's a good idea to write a letter to this judge with copy to the court. Perhaps contact the California state bar association or Martindale Hubbel for her info. Should be online but I've not checked. I think the courts are beyond naive re/WT. Is it possible Darkspilver/Reddit appeal to a higher court? I've not read all the above and apologize if discussed as I try to catch up here.

She's a federal judge -- a judge that is below a state court judge for discovery issues, etc. Check the address for the federal courthouse, San Francisco, California. This is public record -- all the hearings, motions, etc.

WHY do the WT attys need his identity (or any member's identity under the so-called freedom of religion) if info has to remain confidential (really?!) -- is this until the law of the land changes but WT spying is standard procedure or for Darkspilver's online activity to be monitored by big brother & co.
