No, I wasn't afraid of dying at Armageddon. I was afraid of dying before Armageddon. That's because I knew it was far away in time.

    ALWAYS!

I remember my mom telling me that you couldn't hide from the angels. I used to wonder where I would hide. Under something or go to a far away country where only a few people lived. I was really hung up on that. After I left and my mind cleared, I realized how I wasted so much time worrying about that. Now I can live life without that fear hanging over my head.

When you really consider yourself "dead meat" you are free.

Could you elaborate on this Nathan? I don't understand what you mean by this.

No, I wasn't. I know this was a tactic that the WT used on people. Other religions are much the same. The teachings of hell fire and brim stone is an old tactic to have people be affraid of the one they serve. Though the focus on Paradise was more emphasized than the other religions belief in Heaven, I always found this to be a teaching to be an excuse to have people bound by teachings of man. There were so many personal explanations as to what Armageddon would be like. And it wasn't supported in the scriptures. The same went for the New System. There were many fantasies about it. The fact remains, no one knows. And no one is to judge another person for what will happen to them. Only God can read peoples hearts and knows their circumstances as to where they are in their lives, or what motivates them to serve him. Some have a closer relationship than others, but who is to say that one's faith is better than the others?

I remember one DO visiting our hall once. We had a number of people who had a hard time doing personal study. They were not as literate as some of the other members. The comment from the DO on stage was: "Some of you don't like to study" .... "Do you want to die at Armageddon?"

No, as the teaching of the New System had been knocked home the most. I even remember thinking as a child wouldn't it be better to die now and get to the new order faster. Twisted, huh?

Hell yes --that was my number one reason for getting baptized

Many parents try to get their kids to get baptized to "save" them. If the Great Trib came and a child "knew right from wrong", yet wanted to wait until he was older, it would be just as in Noah's day when all the people were banging on the door to get in but Jehovah destroyed them, instead.

At the beginning, no, I did not have the fear but then as the newness of dubdom wore off and I would watch an R movie, go out with my husband to a nightclub and go dance, have a few drinks, etc.....I began that thinking process that I just would not make it. I would fight with my husband and I was not submissive ---- actually would have been stupid to have handed over paychecks or let him make money decisions........ well, I thought I was dirt anyway.
