    Yeru:

By that extension, you could say Bush committed perjury....lying about WMD's during the State of the Union...a constitutionally required duty of the president, which he swore to uphold during his oath of office. Yeah, it's a stretch, but so is nailing Clinton for a question that shouldn't have been asked in the first place.

Besides, perjury is committed every time a defendant claims innocence...why don't we add perjury to that too? I have yet to hear of jail time being handed out for perjury.

Spare us the character issue...I can find things about Bush or Kerry I don't like...Can they do the job? That's my primary interest.

Right on Yeru! - Your comments exactly echo my sentiments about Bush! At least Bush shows character and a willingness to stand up to terrorists and deal with them as he should. The economy has improved and taxes are lower. Of course there are still a lot of things to be worked on, but hey...the previous administrations' mismanagements (8 years of Pinocchio Clinton) necessitate a lot of repairing.....

    Badger ole buddy,

Hmmm, no, perjury and lying, as I stated before, would mean that Bush KNEW the Intelligence was wrong. That's just not the case.

As to whether or not character matters, I hope it does in the president. Again, if a man will cheat on his wife, what moral would stop him from trying to screw me over?

    "Clinton Mismanagement"?

    ARE YOU F%&^*N' KIDDING ME?

    Yeru:

You're probably right...I don't think Bush so much KNEW the intelligence was wrong, but rather was betting on it being right...and was mostly focusing on the parts of the report that fit in best with his plans.

Again, if a man will cheat on his wife, what moral would stop him from trying to screw me over?

Yes...which is why you should never pull for Henry Hyde, Newt Gingrich, Neil Bush, Strom Thurmond....

    Badger,

Clinton's record on the economy is not because of him, but IN SPITE of him. When you look at the economies around the free Western world during the Clinton years, you'll see a similar pattern of relative prosperity and it has very little to do with actual governing a country if you know what I mean....

Just for the record, yesterday the young woman who was supposed to be Kerry's paramour flatly denied having an affair with him.

Um...Yeru: How about, I find it impossible to conceive of someone who could wreck America more completely than the Bush team has done. The "Anybody but Bush" feeling is not about wanting to tear down a great guy. It's about wanting to prevent America from being completely destroyed.

That was pretty much right on target, imo. A co-worker stated that when Bush was elected that he wasn't too worried and thought "He's so dumb, how much damage could he do?..."

Hi Yeru, as much as I hate to disagree with you there were a couple of things I'd like to respond to. You stated that if someone would cheat on their spouse, they'd pretty much cheat on everything else. I'd say one doesn't have anything necessarily to do with the other and that would be a personal, probably religious, and judgmental attitude. People's marriages and fidelity are private.

A writer, sorry I forget his name, in Time magazine stated a few weeks ago that Clinton lied and he knew he was lying. He alleged that Bush is lying but doesn't know he is. That is scary. He claimed Bush was "stupendously incurious" and surrounded himself with people and info that only supports his worldview and really believes everything he says without checking for more sides and information. Just that writer's opinion. But it made sense to me.
