I'm reminded of Andrea Yates, the Texas mother who drowned her children. Their names were Noah, John, Luke, Paul and Mary. I remember thinking that was just creepy.

OH GAWD!
good question.
Hubby & I were such true believers that, yes, we did name our kids after "bible names/characters". Sheeeesh.
We wanted to be unique ( we know our kids are ) but every time I tell people my kids names now I cringe. Oh well. They are welcome to change their names.........but a rose by another other name.....oh forget it.

My god fearing parents wanted me to be a pioneer but knew I'd miss my ministerial hours so they named me Minimus.

My real name is Manuel. I think perhaps my father may have been thinking of "Immanuel" in Isaiah when he named me that. But he also took Spanish in high school and retained a bit of it. Ironically, my name means "With us is God" and I no longer have a definite belief in God. But I always believed that a name is what you make it. I get to define my name by my life.

My parents weren't JW's when I was born, in fact of their five kids only my brother had a biblical name and I'm sure it was just cuz they liked the name.
On the other hand yes I did name my three boys biblical names or rather my X did, he named the boys I named the girls and no the girls don't have biblical names.
I still like all my kids names and they seem okay with them too at least none of them have mentioned wanting to change their names.

My parents wanted to name me Organization, but they couldn't find that name in the Bible. They wanted to name me Society but they couldn't find that one either. Then they were going to call me Committee because they were sure that must be in there, but they couldn't find it. In the end I was named after a Saturday matinee movie actor.

Nope. My parents thought that "Michael" (note the spelling, ae not ea!) was a lovely name fit for a prince.
However, it has caused me a few snags in later life. My parents had a child before me that didn't survive. I knew about this of course, but it never occured to me to ask what the child had been named. Well..
Some time back, when I renewed my passport, I couldn't find my birth certificate which is a basic requirement to get a new passport. So, I phoned Bolton Registry Office to see if I could have a replacement. No problem at first, but then the fun started when I gave my D.O.B. Cold, probing questions now, why did I want a replacement birth certificate?
Wow...my parents had christened their first child as Michael too. So the dates of birth were quite a way apart. Fortunately, they had me down on my birthday, same parents etc, but for one moment I saw how easy it was for the same scenario as took place in "Day of the Jackal". (The original version)

The truth is they originally had a non biblical name but mom's best friend used the name two weeks before I wasborn and they decided on a biblical name for me.
Not to mention that my father often called me Jesus as he often said..
Jesus Christget over here... but he must have also believed that I was the original serpent because other times he called me aGod damned idiot. -

On of my son's friends (Jewish) asked if he was Jewish also.....with such a manly Jewish name (thanks to moi). Aaron told him his middle name - and guy said "You MUST be Jewish!"
Then Aaron told him his brother's first & middle name - and the guy was floored with our Jewish authenticity -- even though we're Irish/English/Scottish/Osage Indian.
Then Aaron told him his older sister's first & middle name - and the guy just stood there saying "whaaaaaaaa?" My son responded......."yeah, mom was still in her hippie era - before the jw's got her good."
