Though not JW I named my oldest Damien, what a stir that caused on the JW side of my ex's family. Not to mention that he was born in room 667 in a CATHOLIC hospital.

My husband was named for the old tv strip George of the Jungle, my sister was named after a mouseketeer and I got mine cause it started with D (both my sis and I have D names).

My daughter was given her name because it means "witch" LOL.

I knew a family that named every one of their children from the Bible, and every one started with "d". Now, that was ok for a while, but they eventually had 9 kids. The first ones were fine, but toward the end they were seriously scraping the bottom of the lexicon. Some of those kids had pretty goofy names.

One poor kid in my ex's congregation was named Phineas. Is that Biblical or did his Mom just have really bad taste in names?

My parents named me after a biblical character and I used to hate my name(i'd rather not share my real name online). It's not an easy one to remember or pronounce and for a kid that sucks. Now I could care less, I still dont particularly like it but I havent found one that suits me yet...I'm sure that one day when I have moved passed all things jw related as much as possible I will celebrate by losing my biblical name and renaming myself as a symbol of my freedom from the bible and religion.

My parents had nine kids and of them they have used a lot of biblical names for either first or middle names including David, Johnathan, Michael, Rachel, Prisca, Joseph, Mark, and Joshua. I should have known I was destined to be the familys black sheep when I got the most unique biblical name .

oh, and my nephews name is Caleb.

My parents were not JW's, so I am Marilyn and my brother is Lonnie.

We named all but one of our kids Bible names. The first (Randall) escaped that stigma.............but after that, it was a requirement (Stephen, Rachel, Daniel). I regret it now, because I would love to have used some of the great family names I've discovered in my ancestry (Mattie, Cyrus, Lanette, Augusta, Theron...........not sure I would have used that one, but it's a cool name).
