It depends, school when your older is a mixed bag especially when you commute like me. I think the professors feel bad for me when I tell them I'm married and have a child and that I have to work full time. Most of the kids at my college live right on campus or nearby, so sometimes it's hard to get things done especially with all my distractions. Plus, college is sorta like high school with an emphasis on socialization which makes me mad that I really only have time to go to classes and that's it. I think that it is ok, and maybe even a good idea to take a year off after high school so that you can travel or find yourself, but to wait 5 years like me and then go back really sucks. The first semester is awesome but then reality sets in and it feels just like another job. Although, I am happy just to have the chance to make it now, the opportunity.
Atilla, you may be a newbie but it seems to me as if you understand, too well, the ways of a heathen. *Another sad shake of my head*
What's your major?
Talesin, I always knew that you had to be a heathen. *Sigh* Won't you repent? I worry about your welfare when "the great day of God the almighty" starts up.

I haven't gone to a meeting in nearly 30 years, so:
1) I'm home designing a "30 Year 'Postate" pin.
2) Why start now!!??
3) If I go back, I would "ratify" or validate the Baptismal Vow changes made in the early 80's. Unless I do that, I don't owe anything to the GB/FDS frauds.

My major is History BSED-Hopefully I will be a high school teacher in two years, and will then go back to be a professor eventually by taking summer school. I just can't maintain my current work load for another 6 years straight to get my doctorate. I figure that I put so many hours in already (used to be a pioneer), that I should be good atleast to age 50. No seriously, I feel that I have helped way more people since I left the org. than I ever helped when I was in the org. I like to do small things on a everyday basis that helps people out.

Mustang,
You must wait on Jehovah regarding these things. Only a heathen would think otherwise.

Atilla,
Tell that to Jehovah on the day that you will be forced to look him in the face. All your good works will mean nothing in his eyes. All that will matter to him is if you were at the KH and out in service. Think about that, ya heathen.

Atilla,
Yes, it would be a lot more work than fun with a family as well. I was looking at it from the perspective of having no other responsibilities than myself. It must really be a long slog for you! I'll say double good for you, and keep up the good work!!!
Robyn,
My pagan hippie friends (knowing my background) call me "The Antichrist" hahaha - no offense meant to any Christian folk reading this. As for "the great day of God the almighty", well, it can't be any worse than my childhood, which lasted many years.
Mustang,
All very good reasons for avoiding the Kingdumb Hall. I haven't set foot in one for over 25 years (proud to say).
FREEDOM ROCKS!!!

Talesin,
So, you are telling us that you are consorting with hippies? And let me guess, they are heathens too? Well, at least you will have company when the angel of Jah comes swooping down upon your ass.

I'm so happy that I don't have to endure the absurdity of Sunday meetings any longer! (Or any other meeting for that matter...)
Today I'm gonna
1.Drink some coffee at my leisure
2.Listen to some wonderful Coltrane
3.Hang out with my cats
4.Go to our neighbor's house for waffles
5.Search for some old lps for my "worldly" pal's upcoming birthday
This Sunday will, in it's simplicity outshine so many others that I spent at the kingdom hall. Bored out of my skull, reading about Jehoshakiah or some other obscure irrelevant...
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
My girlfriend and I celebrated Valentine's day together and I didn't get home until 1:00 a.m. this morning. Since I was too tired to go to Mass, and I certainly don't have the energy to endure a two hour religious sales pitch at the KH.
Sorry that you have to work today, Robyn. Hope that you had a nice Valentine's day.
