AlanF, What is the relationship of Ted Jarecz to Don Adam's?
I'm posting a topic on this too.

Be careful what you wish for.
Thousands of witnesses upon having to face the truth about their faith could commit suicide. Old devastated ones like my parents would probably die of a broken heart.
I for one hope for slow disintegration mainly through attrition, ie, less people joining, vs shock therapy on people who have invested their whole emotional bank account in these men.

The bottom line, is that only more informantion will come forward, and this info will only spread to a greater degree, and the cubby holes where the GB has been hiding out will become fewer, and fewer... and fewer.
Those filthy cockroaches will have no dark place to scurry under...
JoelBear, I hate to sound blase or cynical, but I think they'd do just fine. After all, we did! I only wish it could have been that quick and while I was still in....would have saved me alot of heartache!

Unfortunately, there are alot of dubs who are lifers. (Like my folks.)
It will take an a-bomb to get them out.
I think they would be affected emotionally to the nth degree. I only hope they can withstand the temporary turmoil.
All of us with loved ones in the borg wish the same. (A safe exit for them.)
Jimmer, I totally understand how you feel. I have a sister with three teenage boys and a mom still in. I sometimes try to imagine how they would react, especially the boys, since they've been raised totally in it. I mean, the destruction of trust and innocence alone would blow their minds. But, hey, at some point, we all went through the disillusionment thing, too. I just hope for the best, most positive outcome myself. : - ) Even for my ex! : - )

I feel I have to say something here.
I too feel that a lot of people that I know personally will be devasted when they finally realize that they have been duped.
There are several people I know who just will not face the facts that have been presented to them. They don't want to know the truth about the "truth".
I know of some who are here reading the information from this web site and they just cannot believe what they are finding out.
Others refuse to even look at anything if they know it has come from the internet. Including the notes that can be found here.
There are people in the organization who just don't want to face the real facts about the WTS. It would devaste them.
I think it is best that some do not find out the truth about the "truth".
Some people need to have something to look forward to in order to get through their day.

Chester
We have an interesting situation in my family at the moment. My brother is a diehard elder who's in training for the circuit work. His only child--a boy--applied to Bethel a while back and is expecting his invitation any day. (My brother started shunning my sister and me more than 10 years ago, even though we had never been disciplined in any way. I haven't seen my nephew since he was about six years old.)
When I heard my nephew was going to Bethel, I was heartbroken. But I've had second thoughts about that lately. After all, he'll be at Bethel during a time of great upheaval, and I'm sure he'll be pivvy to information (gossip) that his father wouldn't have heard. I wonder what effect all of this will have on his faith and--in the long run--his father's. It could be very interesting, indeed. It might turn out that his going to Bethel is the best thing that could have happened to our family. :-)

Great posts.
On the subjest of 'truth' - I like the line uttered by Jack Nicholson in the film 'A Few Good Men.'
'The truth - you can't handle the truth!
I always thing of the fear driven Jehovah's Witnesses when I remember that line.
In one talk at the DC, the speaker went on about how 'when people fnd out the truth, they are disillusioned and their whole life is turned upside down'.
I couldn't help but think of an earlier talk where the speaker sounded out about "some brothers" who are incorporating their own ideas when they speak. He went on that "these brothers say things that are technically correct, but with double meanings, they couch their words..."
Was the first speaker (above) couching, and speaking about what it's like to find out that the WTBST are a bunch of lying dogs?
Who can know...
