    Yizu,

We hired an attorney for no money down. He took our case on commission, and has faught vigorously for three years. He has yet to get a penny.

Try to find a contingent attorney. that means they collect if you collect.

but file with the IDOL immeadiatly!

This is terrible. Can we help with more than advice? Let me know where to send it and I will mail a check right away. Or would a money order be better?

Wow, I'm sorry Yizuman. You have some good advice here. Definately sounds like you have a leg to stand on regarding back pay for OT. I have heard of people getting that when putting in claims.. I sure hope you find something fast..

Yiz, I am soooo sorry to hear about this, but, while I was reading your description of this man's business practices, I got the impression/feeling that it won't be much longer before he goes under. You cannot run a business and not be totally involved in everything, at least at first. I know this may be cold comfort now, but, I think he may have done you a HUGE favor by letting you go.........take the opportunity and run with it! You are an extremely strong, focused, honest person, and believe me those strengths and attributes will not go unpunished. You should feel proud how you've worked so hard to pay your way. Some people would have not bothered to pay back debt. I had a girlfriend in this situation and within a short time, she got an even better paying job, in a much higher scale restaurant......she's a waitress and was working for a low to midrange pizza place in a mall. Now she works at one of the oldest, classier restaurants in town. It's a beautiful old pub, with dining areas also......she'll do very well monetarily there, and what is more important she is vindicated for her stand and for her strong moral ideals. I don't know too much about discrimination, but it sure sounds like you have a very good case........I'm sure you'll get lots of great advice and support here~hang in there, I'll be sending lots of good energy your way! I, also, would be willing to help out financially.........every little bit helps! Let us know! That's what friends are for!!!

I appreciate all of the advice and offers.

I will go to the Indiana Department of Labor as suggested, since my printer isn't here yet and all my stuff is still in storage, I cannot seem to find help getting my stuff out since I am still paying 60 bux a month keeping them in there.

I usually have my mail thru my sis's house because the town I live in is PO BOX only and thought it would be cheaper to get the mail thru her house, BUT, problem is I may have to get the PO BOX because my sis is waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy sensitive about this kind of issue and she'll hound me to no end. Right now I don't feel comfortable informing her of the situation until at least I get a better idea what I am looking at. She may eventually find out when she tries to stop by and see me since she just lives a few miles from where I had worked. I am afraid of her, honestly, she runs her mouth (so to speak) til I feel like jumping off a bridge. She lays so much guilt trip over nothing when I KNOW this isn't my fault.

I have not missed one single day of work save alone my grandmother's funeral last month. So I have no fault of my own. This just came out of the blue. I even went to work sicker than a dog.

First thing in the morning at 4 AM when I wake up and is to get my ass ready to go job hunting. I had already picked up several apps on my way home and will fill them out tonight and return them all tomorrow. I don't care what the pay is and the hrs I get, at least I hope I get something that'll keep my butt outta trouble. At least until I find a more and better permanant job.

I was hoping to keep this job at least until very early spring when the weather is much better for job hunting, no such luck I guess.

Ack, this suck! SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS! I cannot believe this happened! Danggoneit!

Oh I do hope I never go back at the shelter!

Just had a thought, since I already had a talk with the landlord and he was very very understanding of my situation and I am so grateful that he's willing to help me out in anyway he can and he knows that I lived in a shelter and he said he don't want me back there either.

So I'm gonna ask him if it's ok if I could have all of my mail directed to him and he can drop them off whenever he's around, he has the keys to my apt so he can just lay them on my kitchen counter where I can find them.

If I cannot find a job before the next rent is due, (initially I had been paying rent every two weeks on payday so I can stay on top of things and not be behind on anything. I am ok on utilities because it's all paid, the landlord pays all that which is real nice. It's the rent I am more concerned about and of course food and gas to get around looking for a job.) I'll let you all know about it right away.

I don't want to take hand-outs and don't want to look like a bum. But looking at this situation, I may have to, even when I don't like it. I feel bad about all this.
