My mother became a JW when I was 5, so I have a few memories of Christmas and Birthdays from my childhood. I left when I was 18.
Were you raised as a dub or did you convert?

Neither. My mother became a dub when I was about four years old, and I lived with her until I was 7. After that, I only got indoctrinated on weekends and school vacations. Was never a baptised dub and since coming to this board, have realized how fortunate I was. I will never complain again about my childhood and/or my life. I tip my hat to those who endured it day after day, year after year.

My mom started studying when I was just a couple of months old. Raised in a strict witness home, with an elder father.
I left in my mid twenties, after a divorce. My sister and my parents are all out too now. Still have a son involved, and a few friends that are witnesses, other than that, I don't have any ties to the religion anymore.

raised in it, knowing full well always that I didn't want it and never would have chosen it for myself. why oh why did this happen to me? I think I was born in the wrong family...
