My elder friend told me today that after a fellow elder got chastised because his talks and parts were not up to par
Hey Min,
I remember when the C.O. at an elders meeting, said that elders who were not good speakers should only give talks in their own hall.....and NOT to send them out. Can you imagine the hurt that comes to an elder when you have to tell him he's too shitty of a speaker to give talks in other congregations?

This guy is so nervous that he's requested not to go out unless he's asked by a friend in that Hall. Actually, he's one of the nicest guys you could meet.He's humble and caring. He doesn't "qualify" as an elder!

Perhaps you should pay him a visit if he quits attending. He might be a good apostate candidate!

I meant as, "He's such a nice guy, that he doesn't QUALIFY as an elder". He's too good for that!

I now enjoy my role as elder emeritus. Amazing how many in the cong. come for a little TLC, even though we miss many many meetings. Don't really have a clue what the eldubs say about me. Who cares!
A good elder would be organized, a good public speaker (from the heart), humble, and not act as if he's better than anyone else in the congo. In fact he should be able to wash the bathrooms just like a sister can.
Are sisters supposed to clean the bathrooms, homey???
In my old congo the sisters always cleaned the ladies room, unless by dire need I had too. Before leaving Bethel I was cleaning coordinator/supplies guy. I always cleaned the mens room but would not dare venture into the ladies room, except if the hall was closed and we were doing a special cleaning.
