Enumerate reasons why the JW's are Hated or Disliked

Many people hate or dislike the Jehovah Witnesses. The JW's think it's a sign that they have the truth.

Enumerate a few reasons why people dislike them.

You know, that's just not true.

JW's like the idea that most people hate them... it fits their beliefs. Most people, in my experience, consider the JW's nutty but harmless, inasmuch as they have noticed them at all.

People don't like being called on... but since there are so many more sources for that kind of irritation (telemarketers?) JW's just aren't that high profile...

Here's two...

1. Preach Christ's message about feeding the hungry, clothing and sheltering the homeless, etc....and do absolutely NOTHING for these people. (Shun programs that do just this, etc.)

2. Use their "freedom" to the fullest, even calling upon the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc. but won't defend and protect that freedom. (No military service.)

1) Exculsion. Well known that JW's don't mix a lot with others.

2) Patriotism. "Them JW's don't salute the flag!"

3) Prostelitizing (sic). JWs actively seek members in the most agressive and annoying ways possible.

4) Beligerence. Just get a JW started on anything about religion. G'wan, I dare you.

5) Confused with the Mormons.

6) Famous weird people. Prince, Michael Jackson...

7) different from a lot of other "Mainstream" faiths

8) Moral strictness.

Well, most of the people I've known in the past 25 years hate them ... (or at least their behaviours & attitudes)

Because they feel they are 'right' and the rest of the world is 'wrong', and they keep trying to shove their beliefs down everybody else's throats

Many of them have a superior attitude about their morality and that of the org - they are 'better' than the folk of all other religion. "Oh, you don't have to worry about him/her. She/he is a Witness!"

I have found that most people don't hate JW's. If you were to randomly interview people on the street about how much they know about JW's, I'd say 90% would be hard-pressed to tell you anything besides the 3 main disinguishing characteristics - door-to-door, blood, holidays.

Hate is a very strong word and not the primary emotion people have when it comes to Witnesses. In reality, most people don't have a freakin' clue what the JWs are all about.

They are cheap and don't like to tip....I hate that!......They bother people on weekend mornings.....I like to sleep..... They are close minded and not clothes minded.
