Do all informed JW's deny the man Christ Jesus as their mediator?

Many here are familiar with the current Watchtower doctrine that Jesus is the mediator for only the 144,000.

Members of the great crowd who know and believe WT doctrine on this subject will deny that Jesus Christ is their mediator.

Those of the remant who know and believe WT doctrine on this subject will claim to have Jesus Christ as their mediator, but will deny that the mediator is a man.

However, the Bible says that the mediator is . . . . "the man" Christ Jesus:

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." 1 Timothy 2:5-6

It seems that all informed JW's (that is those who know and believe WT doctrine on this subject) will deny that there is now a man in heaven as their mediator.

Do you have the man Christ Jesus as your mediator?

Until I started reading xjw web sites, I had no idea that jw's taught that.

I don't think the average JW is aware of it.

    Elsewhere,

Most dubs do not know ALOT about their own doctrines......especially ones that were first discussed 10 years ago or more. The majority of current dubs have been in 10 years or less, which means alot of material that isn't really mentioned much anymore......is not KNOWN by most dubs. Tell ANY dub that C.T. Russell has a gravemarker near his headstone built like a pyramid, and has masonic images on it.....and see if they believe you. Tell them JW's used to not accept vaccinations and see if most even knew that. There's many more.

The "Mediator" doctrine took place in the 80's if I remember right.....maybe earlier. The society got a lot of flack from that and doesn't publish much on that issue like they used to......so most dubs are unaware unless they are old timers.

Oh....I forgot to say something to hooby

Hey hoob! I will be nice, I promise......here goes.

Even when I was a christian I could never fathom Jesus as being in human form when he returned to heaven. To think his dad and the angels are spirits....and jesus is a man...never made sense to me and STILL doesn't. I know you will say he's a glorified man.........but he's STILL a "man" in the eyes of a christian (cept for the dubs) I just don't seem right. A "man" who isn't on dirt somewhere, is floating around with invisible angels in the sky. I can't grasp it.

Un-informed & "new" JWs say that Jesus is their mediator just like it says in the bible. Then memorial time comes around and the WT has to remind them that Jesus is not for everyone. This explains the "to partake or not to partake" question for ALL who might feel the urge. The average JW is NOT in the new covenant, NOT an adopted child of God, (how can they use the term "father"?) NOT of the 144,000, and can only have a brush with this elitism, and must have the printing company, the WT society be their legal represenatives - which is their own definition of a mediator - between them and god.

This doctrine is also recorded in the blue AID book under Mediator. copyright 1971

The man Jesus walked on water (no dirt there). The Bible teaches "the man" at the right hand of the Father (Ps. 80:17 etc.).

    Hoob,

WHY is Jesus a physical man.....and ALL the rest of the heavenly hosts are spirits? Why?

This isn't a sarcastic comment.......but a real one this time.

Did the bible writers mean that when Jesus was living on the earth as a man - that was when he was the mediator? That was how the apostles got to the big guy cause Jesus said something like why do you want me to show you the father You have seen me, so you have seen the father, ......

since they say that Jesus isn't a man on earth anymore, but an angel in heaven....Doesn't that make room now for the WT as the NEW mediator? or how I see it - a false Christ as foretold in the bible.

One reason Jesus Christ is still a physical man is to fulfill the plan of God that all things would be subject to man. "What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:" Psalm 8:4-6 "For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him." 1 Corinthians 15:27 "And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church," Ephesians 1:22

Ths scriptures state that it is a "man" who God will put all things under his feet. This is applied to Jesus Christ in 1 Corinthians 15:27; Ephesians 1:22; Hebrews 2:6-8).

So what happens to Jesus when he fullfills that plan, .....does he REMAIN a man? Gumby

Doesn't Jesus, the man that walked the earth, now have a glorified body - glorified like he was before the world was (the bible says he said that sometime)

Ths scriptures state that it is a "man" who God will put all things under his feet.

I think the scriptures say this specifically so that no one will come in his name, like an angel of light, and tell/teach/trick people, (but hardly ever come right out & say it and most are embarrassed to admit) that this Jesus is really an angel, (albeit a great one), a spirit creature, a god. (true or false)
