And . . . why do Witnesses buy life insurance?
Why do they put 40 year shingles on Kingdom Halls?

My parents even had life insurance on my brother and I when we were kids . . .
Monday they talked about how to pay the insurance premiums and Tuesdays they told us we would never die.

Why do Witnesses rotate their tires? Or buy a refrigerator and pay extra for a 5 year guarantee?

Just because the "Light" is "new" doesn't mean they can't see it coming, eh?

I don't think it is a very insightful topic, but rather silly actually. The JW's buy life insurance for the same reason non-JW's do.
While they believe in the ressurrection and everlasting life in paradise, that belief won't cover the immediate cost of the death of a loved one in this system. Life insurance, as everyone knows, does not insure that you won't get killed or die from disease or old age. And buying life insurance, if you are a JW, doesn not imply a set of mixed beliefs or lack of faith. It is practicle no matter what your hope for the future is.

Shingles?
Isn't that some sort of disease that goes right around your tummy and if the 2 ends meet then you die?
