I am pretty sure that the JW virus does not "catch" just by attending a hall, even if it brings back yukky feelings. Minimus, I don't think you will be in any spiritual danger by attending, and it will send a nice message of support to your wife.

Besides, returning after being away for a while can provide a refreshing perspective. I promise your wife will see the hall in an entirely new light!

I really like what rabbit said:

Recently, I attended a family Christmas party with my new wife, why ? I don't believe in it and never will. I went with her -- for her. It was important to her, so it was important to me. Some of her relatives, knowing I had been a Witness were very surprised and told me they were glad I came even tho' I did not celebrate it. They asked -- why? I said, "I love my wife..."

I pick and chose when to support my JW hubby for the same reasons. Of course, he cannot reciprocate in kind without being doused with extreme guilt. THANKS WT FOR NOTHING.

    Min.....your a good hubby

I see no harm in going at this point in your wifes journey out. It takes longer for some than others to drop the dublife completely. I think going to another hall is a good move so as not to get the spirits up of the brothers that "Minimus is STILL intrested.....or he wouldn't be here". That could open up more pestering from them. If you DO go to another hall.....I'm sure news would travel back to your hall that you attended as news gets around quick in dubland as you already know.

Perhaps your wife going might even convince her a bit more that this religion is bogus. Many have tried going back only to be let down by seeing things they didn't realise before when they still had their blinders on. Just let her know this is a sacrafice for you and your doing it STRICKTLY for her......not you.( I'm sure you've already done that).

Do what you said.......go with your gut feeling, as the guts can be a reliable source.

good idea on going to a different hall. I think you are doing the right thing...tell her that you will do it this yet, but that is the last time.
