Hi Nina
I'm just so sorry to hear the most recent punch in the stomach.. about your dog, Dexter.(((NINA)))
What a great idea Morty had ..
I have a neighbour, whose daughter gave her these kind of print kits. She did them with her two grandchildren. They did their hand prints and then they decorated it with shells, pretty stones. she has them in her flower garden .. and then sometimes she moves them to the back garden or sometimes there up by the front steps. Very portable in case you move... and a great memory. She treasures them.
I remember on a Dr. Phil show when he told about his wife. In the sidewalk in front of there house both their boys had their hand prints and names. When they sold the house he came home one day to find a guy with a jackhammer .. hammering up the sidewalk to get these handprints out. Dr. Phil said to his wife.. You can't do that.. it's city property.. It's the sidewalk. She told him it was no way she was leaving without the imprints of her two boys. These hand prints and there names scribbled underneath meant so much to her. Dr Phil had them framed and they are a treasure to them both.

I just lost my cat (had since I was 13) a few mos. ago. It is like a family member. Pets care for you in ways you can't imagine, and ask so little in return.
I hope Dexter can hold on a couple of months...I'd like to pay my respects.
((((hugs to you and your family))))
I'm sorry to hear about Dexter. I am a huge dog lover -- I believe that they are people, too. :-) I love bassets. I have a big, fat beagle and a white german shepard, whom I love dearly, so I can imagine how you feel. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

ps--you mentioned Dallas....I am going there next weekend with my fiancee for a meeting....it's going to be a looooong drive from Illinois....hope the weather is good!
Dear God, they say things come in three's, let it please Lord for the sake of Nina, let it be over.

Dear, please except these tokens of my feeling for you and your family and now your doggie. I just want to cry myself. Please be strong. I know it must hurt like hell. Please feel my huge. hugs and kisses.
Dexter is in doggie heaven!!
Let mother be at a quiet state as she and Nina spend their last days together in love.
Bless you sweet Nina, bless your family, and protect them and love them with your hands dear God.

Good luck tomorrow with the orthopod !! My thoughts are with you !
As far as telling the kids- I think the more time they have to prepare for it and understand what is happening, the better it will be for them.

My sympathies to you, Nina. There is some sweetness is remembering how well you took care of Dexter, and how well he took care of you.
Prayers for strength for you all, and your mom, too.
