    Shel:
Just out of interest, which of the Ten Commandments do you think remain, since all are "fullfilled"?

dear Sabrina! Much peace to you... and may JAH bless! Your "insight" and understanding as to what is and is not binding is good... and I understand where you're coming from, truly. Again, may JAH's undeserved kindness and mercy, and His Son's peace be upon you!

the greatest of love and peace to you, dear one!

None of the "Ten Commandments," remain, in that due to their being fulfilled, their "judgment," has passed. HOWEVER... IF one is to "love your neighbor as yourself," and "do unto others as you would them do unto you," and "all things that you wish men to do to you,"... or NOT to you... one would endeavor NOT to commit such "trespasses,"... no longer against GOD (as under the Law Covenant), but against one's neighbor. IF one truly had love FOR one's neighbor.

YET... and this is the WONDERFUL thing about the NEW Covenant... IF one were to "trespass" against one's neighbor in one of these ways, there is a COVERING... a FORGIVENESS for "our trespasses,"... so long as WE forgive those who "trespass against US."

I give you... hmmm... let's see... two cases: the adulterous woman brought to my Lord by the judgmental "law-abiding" Pharisees... and the Samaritan woman whom my Lord spoke with at Jacob's well. Both women were "guilty" as respects the Law... and both knew it, yes? And, according to the Law, both women were to be stoned (the Samaritan woman, too, for she was also "under Law," by means of being an Israelite... Samaritans being the 10-tribe kingdom of Israel, Jews being of the 2-tribe kingdom of Judah - BOTH tribes having taken the oath at Sinai...)

My Lord, who COULD have judged and condemned BOTH women, and who COULD have thrown the first stone at either, as he WAS "without sin," did not transgress the Law by not doing so, but instead SURPASSED it... by NOT judging and condemning them, but rather forgiving and releasing them. He did not hold them to the Law. If then, that is the example HE set... how should we be toward one another? Is that not what WE would want others to do to us? Forgive and release us from our "trespasses"? If so, then in fulfillment of the Law of the Christ, we should also forgive and release others from their trespasses against us.

Does that mean that we can use the love of the Christ as an excuse for trespass? Absolutely not! But, dear LT... what it ALL comes down to is two things: intent... and motive. What was the INTENT and MOTIVE of the transgressor? What compelled the trespass? Weakness? It can be forgiven. Inability to fight the flesh and win by means of the spirit? It can be forgiven. God... shows mercy to whomever HE wishes to show it. Which is why my Lord SAID:

"I come to call sinners, NOT righteous people. For the righteous... have no NEED of salvation."

What did he mean? That if one is SO righteous... one can save oneself, yes? And thus, didn't need HIM. But don't we ALL need him, as, in truth, NONE of us are truly "righteous," only being able to be so THROUGH him and by MEANS of him?

Thus, it is as John said at 1 John 2:1-6: "My little children, I am writing you these things that you may not commit a sin. And yet, if anyone DOES commit a sin, we have a HELPER with the Father, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, a righteous one. And HE... is a propitiatory (covering) sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours ONLY, but also for the whole world's. And by THIS we have the knowledge that we have come to KNOW him, namely, IF we continue to observe his commandments. He that says: 'I have come to know him and yet is NOT observing his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is NOT in this person.'"

Now, many would deign to think that this is referring to the TEN Commandments, but it does not, for my Lord did not "push" the Ten Commandments, but gave us a NEW commandment: that we LOVE one another, JUST AS he loved us. And in HIS love for us, he did NOT judge and condemn us, but forgave and released us... even giving his OWN life to do so. Thus, John goes on to say:

"But whoever does observe his word, truthfully in this person the love of God is made perfect. By THIS we have the knowledge that we are IN UNION with him. He that SAYS he remains in union with him is UNDER OBLIGATION himself also to go on walking as that one walked."

And how did our Lord "walk"? In LOVE. True, he kept himself from sin... but that was not the FOCUS of his "walk". LOVE, MERCY and FORGIVENESS was.

That's is how I am been taught by my Lord to understand the "Law", dear LT, from the "Ten Commandments" and "Law of Moses,"... to his "law".

As always, I bid you the greatest of love and peace!

Your servant and fellow slave of Christ,
