Wearing a tailor-made suit gives me pleasure unadulterated by the JW penchant for polyester.
anyone now have an aversion to dress clothes?

I like to wear a suit and tie! When I go to the Derby Club, or a play it is nice to "suit up"! I work construction so I don't get to wear nice clothes at work. Maverick

I enjoy dressing up...dresses & heels....especially now when I can allow myself to look good without feeling like I'm an immodest woman and wear things that actually look nice!
Charm may be false
and
Prettiness may be vain
but
I LIKE IT!

I always preferred casual clothing, but I don't really have an aversion to dress clothing. Honestly, I would enjoy a few occasional events that require a suit and tie. When I first started my job, traditional dress was a shirt and tie and maybe a jacket. Then we moved to business casual so now I rarely ever have a need to use my suits or dress shoes. I have only used a suit and tie once since leaving the JW on a dinner cruise. It was nice change of pace. Maybe we'll go to a play or the symphony and that'll give me an excuse to pull it out again.

I think I have a mild aversion... but for a special occation I will dress up.
Since I DAed I have gone to a KH twice... both times I refused to wear a suit.

I was just looking at all the old Meeting Clothes? I have in my closet and thinking that it's time to do some serious spring cleaning. I have a few really nice things that I've bought in the last couple of years (post-JWs) for professional meetings and presentations or weddings. My Meeting Clothes? are kind of bland for my taste now.
It took me a while to get over the you-must-wear-a-dress-or-skirt-to-look-professional mentality though. I purposely wore a pantsuit to a job interview, thinking that it might take me out of the running. I was the only candidate that they hired. I was cured!!

All I can say is ... no more pantyhose!! Bare legs, tights or stockings. Pantyhose were torture.
Usually, I'm casual, but I like to get dressed up occasionally to go out, or just for fun. Then, I will go the whole nine yards!
When I want to do it . * big smile *

I definitely have the aversion to dresses.
I kept the jackets to some of my dress suits and wear them with nice slacks to job interviews and funerals. I have one or two dresses for weddings.
I just cleaned out my closet and my dub clothes went to the recycle center. It felt very liberating to do this. I am glad to shed the old non-life.

Excellent question! I HATE dressing up for anything. I get extremely miserable when I have to dress up for something. No word of a lie, I'm wearing jeans on my wedding day.

I still have to wear a tie and collar shirt to the office; business suits when I meet with clients.
Many restaurants in New York require jacket and ties to enter; as do some private clubs. A navy blazer and regimented stripe tie has become "de riguor" in my wardrobe.
