I don't think Pope meant anything nasty by his comments.
Even JW Children are stupid!

Personally, I think that JW kids are much smarter than the JW adult. Unbaptized kids are allowed to question the doctrines, adults aren't. I remember when my mother was teaching me the blood doctrine, and how we're not supposed to eat blood, or even suck our finger if it's bleeding. I asked, "What about when a baby tooth falls out and it starts bleeding?"
"Well, that's different."
How?

Funny, earlier this week my wife told the kids that today they will make some coloured Easter Eggs. Would you believe 8 kids started squeeling "We don't celebrate Easter!!!" All JW's!!
Only about half the students in the schools in my area are Christians and celebrate Easter. The rest are Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim and Pagan.

It's tough being a jw kid in school. I remember sitting in the auditorium once at a big meeting of sorts in the 6th grade. A male teacher came up behind me while everyone else was saying the pledge to the flage and wisperred in my ear...
"Are your legs broke or something?!"
"No." I eeked out.
I female teacher pulled him back a bit and told him I was stuck in jw mind control.
But, Holy Cow, I thought I was headed strait to the big office for licks!

got my forty homey?
Jw kids generally are smarter than the average kid except for Asian kids because of all the reading and studying. It makes them feel a little haughty because so many educators, parents, congo members keep instilling in them that "you are so smart for your age and read so well!"
Whats even sadder is the state of our education systems when they're playing such a stupid game! What happened to the three R's? Where do these fall in in this game?

Suddenly a little Jehovahs Witness girl in the front row yelled out "But Minnie Mouse is not a girl!!!!'
All the class screamed at her, telling her how stupid she was for giving away the answer. The poor little JW girl realised then what she had done, and promptly started crying and cried all lesson.
The main thing this reinforces to me is that kids can be mean and gang up on someone who's different.
I empathize with this little JW girl. Having grown up in "da troof", I was taught to not socialize with the kids, as they were "bad association". This leads to awkwardness in social situations, when sometimes you simply don't know how to interact -- as was the case with this girl.
I was considered the smartest kid in class. However, just because you can do multiplication problems really quickly doesn't mean you're adept socially.

Please remember the the JW children are the littlest victims in this faith.
As a JW child, I was raised in a stifling atmosphere. My parents ( who really had my best intentions at heart; as I am sure most do) sheltered me from anything wordly, including other children. I was only allowed to play with other JW kids in the congregation; and the pickings were slim.
The result is that as a child, I was not well socialized; and the life I led was sheltered from any school kid influence. I was not encouraged to get involved in any way with any fellow school students or any school activity. The result is withdrawal; unsociableness; eventually ostracism.
It is a painful path for a child.

My wife is a teacher and she had a class today, where she played a game with the kids. One child came forward and stood facing the class with her back to the blackboard. Another kid wrote "Minnie Mouse" above her head on the blackboard; the purpose of the game being that she had to guess "who" she was, by asking the class questions.
So her first question was "Am I a boy?". The class answered "No".
She next asked "Am I a girl?" and the class answered "Yes".
My wife felt really sorry for her! But if I was the teacher I would have had her DISFELLOWSHIPPED!!!!

Are you so full of hate that you even direct it at a child? Shame on you!

A lot of us were JWs growing up.. and for most of us, not being able to fit in with the others, and being made fun of is not a good memory..
I feel like this thread is calling us stupid too..

I can't post this together because of some error on the board. It won't allow me to post my full comment.

Actually, she was right, Minnie Mouse is not a girl, Minnie Mouse is a female mouse and a cartoon character. Your wife should have stopped the class from speaking to her in that manner. If I was her mother, I?d have your wife reprimanded for allowing such an outburst. Shame on you both and your wife is stupid if she thinks a Mouse is a girl.
now it does...
