Did You Live A "Double Life"?

Most of the so-called "good examples" that I knew of lived a "double life". Were you one of those that acted pious at the Hall but elsewhere, behaved as someone not a Witness?

Man, I really hated that "double life" bs rhetoric. Made ordinary people seem so shady and deceitful in just trying to SURVIVE and get by....

I was pretty much the same at the KH as away from it. I couldn't live with myself otherwise. But then I wasn't trying to impress people.

I have to admit, while a teenager, I was a member of the Dr. Jeckyl / Mr Hyde fraternity.

But I would have never survived high school if I wasn't. Well perhaps I would have survived, but I wouldn't have had any fun!

Yes I did for all of about 6 months where my current life ovelapped with my JW one......I really couldn't stand the hypocrisy I felt, and so something had to give........and, well...here I am.

Interesting question. I was 16 or 17 when the double life started, and I had to act "spiritual" to keep my friends and family. Pious in the sense that I looked down on others? No, I was sneaking out to see my buddies who had been DA'd. When I was 18 I started the slow fade, and not very slow at that. There were kids my age that I'd see at parties, getting drunk and stoned, elders kids, piousneers, etc., who'd treat me like shit and point at me when they saw me with their dub friends the next week. I hated those *%$*ers. A lot, It hurt.

x-jw I don't know, I guess so, I'm inactive now apart from the Memorial and Aseemblies, so yes whilst I'm there I suppose I am leading a double life, most other times no though........make sense?

I really don't know anything but having a double life...how comes both of them suck.
