about my hair.....I think I've ruined it...

I tried a home highlighting kit and had a friend do it for me last night.........now I look like a lemon....

I feel horrible and don't want to leave the house....I'm not sure anything can even be done about it. Kind of seems like it fried my hair and bleached strands of it.

Just wanted a shoulder(s) to cry on....

Sounds like you need to invest in a good hairdresser to save your hair, desi. You know what they say, you get what you paid for. I do color my hair but with the guidance of my hairdresser. Don't try to fix it yourself or it just may fall out. Try the clairol website, maybe they can help.

So sorry! I can totally relate though. Having Black hair myself, I decided that I wanted to lighten it up a bit. This was while I was reg. pioneering! I bought 2 bottles of Super Sun-In. Sprayed both bottles on, Went in the sun for about an hour, came inside and.....It looked like Garfield the cat was on top of my head! Bright carrot orange! Needless to say, the Brothers and Sisters had quite a lot to discuss among themselves. Thankfully, there was a sister who was a hairdresser, and after a few days, she was able to dye my hair back.

Don't fret, I am sure it can be fixed!-If not, I have some hats that I can send you! LOL

About 6 months ago, I did the same thing (trying to save some $$). Totally screwed it up. Fortunately, I have a great hairdresser (who charges a lot, but I guess there's a reason for that). She got me in right away and fixed it.

She explained to me that those paint-on highlighter kits are bad becaue you have GOT to separate the hair underneath from the strands you are highliting (like weave/or cap). Made total sense. I felt light sueing the company.

Get to a good hairdresser--they CAN fix it. I know exactly how you feel. That' s the last time I'll do that!

Don't stress pet, we all bugger up our hair sometimes. I still remember 10 years ago the night before my highschool ball and I dyed my hair - it was meant to go a lovely ash blonde but it went bright orange! I looked like an orangutang! Very embarrassing!

And there was that time I tried to dye my blonde hair brown and it went bright pink.!!!!!

You will be fine - just go buy some toner and that will bring it back to an ash blonde instead of the brassy/lemon colour you have got going on now.

Awwwwww, tell you what, we could do a tempory swap if you like, you can have my fine head of hair and I'll have yours for a while til it gets better. Trust me I'm a landscape gardener and have a business here in the UK called The Garden Artists, give me two weeks with your hair on my head and I'll sculpture it back to the most wondrous head of hair you ever did clap your eyes on.

You take care lass, all the best, with kind regards.
