JWs seem to be preoccupied with "the world". If a Witness does anything out of line----they are considered "worldly". Is being "Worldly" all that terrible?? A male has a goatee and he is labeled as "worldly". A female wears a dress that actually, God forbid, shows her knees. She's "worldly". A grown man buys a 2 door sportscar. He's "worldly"........Can you think of other things that clearly show that a person must be a Witness???

Eman, I'm thinking of things that show a person is a "tyical Witness". Being a "typical JW" means you're weird, a bit strange, etc. .....I knew many JWs that loved "vitamin parties" or iridology get togethers. While everyone in tbhe "world" was going to a doctor for a diagnosis, JWs loved playing doctor and pharmacist in their own little group.

I gotta disagree with you on the "typical witness" angle. I think the typical witness tries not to be strange or weird. I think the typical witness tries to be a witness at the hall, in service and at home maybe but outside of that they try hard to fit in as best they can. They may avoid situations where fitting is would be hard, but when out and about they want to appear as normal. The diehard, zealous witness does stick out as strange or weird. They stick out even amongst other witnesses. Of course, if all the witnesses followed the "principles" and "suggestions" as laid out in their publications and meetings, then, yes, they would all stick out as weird and strange.

I drive a Orange SS Camaro to the KH, nobody says I am worldly. Dress in Armani suits, wear a gold rolex (no necklace) never heard anyone say I look worldly. Corporate yes, wordly no.
