Jolly good show, dustyb! I was just thinking that I should start translating all my posts into English for our British Apostate Brethren and Sisthren. It's just good manners, what what!
I never really thought about anyone being British, or American, or whatever. I just went by the sensibleness of the post. I have found a pretty convincing pattern of lil British flags in the avitars of the snottiest posters here, tho. I'm sure it is just coincidence. JUST KIDDING!
When Simon posts something I can hear Tim Curry speaking. I love Tim Curry. When the englishman posts something, I hear Bennie Hill speaking. I love Benny Hill!
Seriously tho, I have never given it a thought until now.

my first communication from someone from England was a pen pal from Leeds when I was a little girl. We wrote for many years.
and my sister became close friends with a 'sister' from a nearby congregation and was her best friend for years so we did some things with their family too.. they came to the US from England. I always enjoyed their sense of humor.. The only think I didn't like was when my sister at age 14 got dfd.. of course she lost her best friend..
My sister is still out (thankfully) and her old best friend only lives 2 miles away.......... her parents now will move to a different check out lane to miss bumping into my sister...
but that is the JW crap..
not who they were that made them fun....
and of course the others I know are you guys... and well.. without you guys where would we be?

Stephanie,
"A leauge of Gentlemen?" - brilliant, are you local??? That accent was Yorkshire, although one of the stars of that show is from Chorley, just up 't road from us (Lancashire).
I think most Americans would find that my Bolton/Westhoughton accent would be quite hard to understand. It's very broad Lancashire, quite the opposite of a City accent like Scouse or Mancunian.

I remember the first episode was of the guy, I forget the caracters name, he was trying to help the cow give birth in front of some kids, anyways he put his hand up the cows ass instead and pulled out its kidney ! lol
That show was the funniest ever!
Actually from Texas

It's funny, if you spend some time with someone with a very strong accent you get tuned into it after a bit and can understand it more.
True, Simon. After awhile I could understand you and Ang very well. Not your boys though.

League of Gentlemen was brilliant, I still think of it whenever I go to any small village anywhere.

got my forty homey?
What I have found of Brits is that yall dont seem to like us very much and have a deep rooted hatred from our breaking apart from your country hundreds of years ago. However, polictics wise whatever the US wants the British always follow us, which is a good thing I guess.

How rude, if it was a Yorkshire mans round i'm sure that they would not try and sneak into a washroom. Speaking from expereience i would say that Yorkshire men are on the whole generous guys (especially my daddy!). We all know that it is the Scots that don't like to put their hands in their pockets.
Everytime i go down south everytbody insists on mimicking myYorkshire accent although i am very proud of it and wouldn't wanna be from anywhere else. People seem to get the impression that we all speak like the queen. Hell that couldnt be further from the truth. Although it can't be denied that NORTHERNERS RULE!!!! Come on Leeds!!
