As witnesses, we believed that for a thousand years in the New System ....life would be grand.--Gumby

It will be grand, as there will be nobody dying from old age. (That's right, Gumby, the ole everyone will be eating from the Tree of Life thingy again.)

Why do you suppose THE MAJORITY of mankind who had no Satan or demons to influence them, would want to follow a wicked wiley snake who already got his arse kicked twice now already from god for rebelling.--Gumby

Can you say "stupid"? Also, there are people today who know that smoking can cause cancer, but they continue to smoke just the same. Simply knowing that something is bad doesn't necessarily mean they are immune to being tempted to do it again.

Will governments, authorities, and rulerships exist [during the 1000-year reign of Christ]?--Gumby

No. There will only be the rulership of Christ and the 144,000--that's the reason it's called the 1000-year reign of Christ or the kingdom of Christ.

    Gumby,

    LMAO at you guys....

I remember when I was studying they told me that after the thousand years and the peak of our tests () anything that would come up after that would be dealt with immediately without plunging mankind into sin again.... LOLOL!

Holy crap; you made it through armageddon, armageddon 2: the big shit!, and then a few hundred years down the road you're toast for questioning a scripture, LOLOL!

    I'd rather just go hiking.

At least with fundamental christianity, once you have been Born Again, your all good. Sins are gone for good, no more tests, when you die you are with the lord forever with no more run in with Satan and his demons and buddies. Christians [Christendom] have a far better hope than any dub ever did.--Gumby

Hasn't Christendom virtually eliminated the earth from the picture? Isn't it true that Christendom teaches that all the "saved" will be living in heaven as spirit creatures? Sorry, but I can't keep from snickering at such a silly idea. Also, I wonder how they explain the purpose for all those galaxies that have been discovered there in deep space? How do they explain the existence of the planets in our own solar system? Just pretty sights to behold in the night sky? Did God really create those planets for no other reason than simply to entertain us after the sun goes down? No, Christendom does NOT have a far better hope than JWs do.

    Gumby,

I have pondered your question many times over the years that I was a dubbie. It is funny that it was always emphasized in talks etc. (and the majority of JW's still feel this way) that you just have to make it through the Great Tribulation and Armageddon and you will be all set forever...whoops! Not forever, 'cuz you have to keep being tested! What a joke!

    Schizm:

The flaw in your argument is that today, according to the Society, people are grossly imperfect and are inclined to badness. So smoking, according to the Org, is sin and weakness due to imperfection. In the 1000 year reign, aren't humans supposed to be perfect????? Temptation is supposedly easily refused and willfull action would have to be involved. So...Gumby's question still stands and is legitimate:

Why do you suppose THE MAJORITY of (perfect) mankind who had no Satan or demons to influence them, would want to follow a wicked wiley snake who already got his arse kicked twice now already from god for rebelling.--Gumby

Answer: Because the theory dogma is a load of garbage designed by religion (men who benefit from power) to keep the masses under control.

    Good topic Gumby.

I appreciate your comments exdub. Making it into the book of life is unattainable for a dub it appears because there is ALWAYS the chance of falling.

    Shcizm,

I see were at it again,

Also, I wonder how they explain the purpose for all those galaxies that have been discovered there in deep space? How do they explain the existence of the planets in our own solar system? Just pretty sights to behold in the night sky? Did God really create those planets for no other reason than simply to entertain us after the sun goes down? No, Christendom does NOT have a far better hope than JWs do.

How does Christendom explain the galaxies any different than a dub? Nobody knows what god has in store for other planets because the scriptures are silent on the matter. Christendom, nor dubs have a clue.....only guesses.

You still thimk like a dub. Do you still feel they hold some dear truths? I agree the dubs are not wrong on all they teach, but their hope sucks. Did you read the material I quoted from in the insight book? They go onto explain that Jesus sacrafice in the new System wasn't good enough, as Jesus STILL acts as a High Priest during the 1000 years to LEAD mankind to perfection....if they stay obiedient.

Have you studied the word "grace" in the bible? Do you know how it applies to christians? If you do.....you would dump old witness ideas you still cling to. Let it go dude....their a cult, remember?

Really?????? Are you sure? Damn...if I had known that was being taught I could have saved myself years of torture and boredom and left a long time ago. Where do they get this stuff?

I remember hearing that once we fill the earth with people, there wont be a need to repoduce. So no sex....

But wait! Angels didn't need to reproduce and they took solid form just so they could. This shows me that the good feelings of intercourse will still be there. So are we going to still have the temptation to do the nasty, just be instantly zapped in the New System 2.0?

But they did....that's where the nephilim came from.....remember

The Witnesses did teach that jehovah would in some way stop the population growth by whatever manner he chose. They also have hinted at the idea that "we" do not know what Jehovah has in store for other planets. Basically.....they don't know.....they just have a hard time saying it without dropping a sugestion at the same time.
