I can just picture all those red and white shirted pizza delivery guys....parading through the stands looking for seat L33, just as the speaker is getting his spiritual high, from raising his voice in admonition!

At the last DC we went to, we were talking to some brothers visiting from the East Coast. They told us that there were so many JWs staying in unapproved hotels/motels and going to nearby restaurants, that the administration had brothers stationed at the hotel and restaurant doors to take down names and congregations to give to the BOEs in those congregations to follow up on and "chastise" them for disregarding directions from the "slave."

We thought they were joshing us, but they were serious.

Apostates will be identified by bringing their prepared lunch in a MacDonalds bag.

Cute, Ezekiel3, and welcome to the board!!!

At the last assembly when we had to stay in a hotel most options from the congregation were fleabag hotels. The one exception was a Marriott. However, I was able to get a better rate off the internet than what was quoted to the congregation. So, guess what. I took the cheaper rate, and at the same time was able to add to my frequent stay Marriott points which I would not have gotten if I booked using the congregation rate.

NY, it goes to show it is not the individual member the WTS is concerned about saving money for but the kickbacks those in administration get from these hotels.

I'm sure they'll get new light on the matter soon. They will instruct the members to avoid eating after 6:00 PM the night before the convention begins, and to drink only small amounts of water. They should fast, and make the convention a truly spiritual occasion. This will also work toward simplification. The less the brothers and sisters eat, the less they'll shit, thus saving much toilet paper, allowing the society's coffers to continue to grow.

We have always been encouraged to pack our lunch, since packing became the thing to do. They make a point when they say if we leave then we miss out on fellowship with the brothers and sisters. Plus we went to our circuit assembly in April, and we ate out, and the place was full of cigerette smoke, and we left reaking. My 2nd daughter was so embarresed, because even though my chldrens father is not in the truth we are not a smoking family. No one at all smokes. So She was horrified.
