No drinking before the meeting. Afterwards we could though.

I was not allowed to masturbate during the Service Meeting, so I did it in the Watchtower Study. It was MUCH better than listening to all the crap in that miserable hour. I was only 14, and masturbating was much higher on my agenda than the "Elijah Class" crap of the day.

Farkel's favorite scripture was in Psa. 40:7, "In view of that I said, "Here I have come, In the roll of the book it being written about me".

When we had our meetings on Wednesdays, I couldn't watch Charlie's Angels.
Then the meetings moved to Friday and I would miss the Dukes of Hazard!

When we got home from school it was to do I hour of homework, not more than that. My father made sure we never had hours of home work, He called the school principle and told him, that our children spend 8-9 a day at school and to have another three or four hours of homework would not be tolerated. So that was cool my dad stood up for me once. After that is was making sure we had prepared for the meetings read the talks over and studied the KM.
Our meeting cases were full and ready for the kingdom hall. Sat down to dinner, absoulety no television what so ever. In fact we didn.t have really any chances to watch TV my mother said every thing was evil and demonized and so we weren't going to have bad spirits in our home.
It never failed though my parents always argued before the meeting about anything and then the whole family was upset and crying and then we had to go into the Kingdom Hall and put on a kingdom smile and pretend ever little thing was perfect in our perfect family. Yuck yuck yuck. It was like that for years. I hated the meetings.
Mind you after Sundays meeting we alsways ate out a the SWISS CHALET for a fantastic chicken dinner. That was the only positive thing about the meetings on Sunday.
Oh well what can a body do?

Because I became a JW as an adult (I know Iknow I was insane) My meeting nights were self imposed restrictions... I didn't have a TV for most of the time , but I really had a hard time getting field service and work done in time to make dinner so I usually didn't eat until after the meeting.
