The Elders are Revolting!

[I'm cut & pasting from my weekend poll thread with additional comments.]

Downunder all the circuit overseers and district overseers are in Bethel for a special 10 week-long school these past few weeks. Riveting stuff is being discussed like Watchtower prophecy!!! The Borgmeisters want to make sure that the correct interpretations are being passed on to the R&F......or do they simply want to make sure the travelling overseers understand it all!!!!

For those of you who thought we had seen the last of the "Daniel's Prophecy" book, forget it! It's being used at the School but can you imagine why all the travelling Overseers need to watch a "bible study" in the "Daniel's Prophecy" book? Next week they turn their attention to the two "Isaiah's prophecy" books.

As has been rightly pointed out, this is the MTS course outline with some additions.

Interestingly, during the course, the C.O.s and D.O.s have been "encouraged" to keep their lives simple.

The mood of the gathering however is that the Society has far from simplified their lives, but that their lives have never been more onerous and complicated! Never before have so much been expected of them, not have they had so busy a life!

    Interesting times.

You know, your subject line makes sense if "revolting" is either a verb or an adjective.

This, to me, is an indication of this organization's priorities. We've all heard horror stories, many of us have lived them. Elders, COs, DOs, etc. who have run amok and caused hideous tragedies in people's lives. And yet this behavior has gone uncorrected. When pointed out to JW apologists, the answer is generally a smarmy "No one is perfect" or "Jehovah uses imperfect men to carry out his will" and so on.

But now look at the effort this organization goes to simply to enforce its will. Correct interpretation is more important than the individual's life. Polar opposite of Christ, isn't it? The needs of the one (the organization) outweighs the needs of the many (the millions of individuals).

Imagine for a moment if this same effort and zeal were put forward to serious impress upon these men the concept of the loving shepherd, who sees his flock being abused horribly. Imagine this same effort being put forward to help women and children who are being beaten and raped every day. Surely this is more important than prophetic interpretation.

    Sadly, not to this religion.

' K eep their lives simple' means have nothing in your life except the work we give you!

The GB says all the appropriate things then loads down every layer of the congregation with burdons!

    A further snippet:

One C.O. said that he thought it (the Society telling them to keep their lives simple) was a joke! Others agreed. For him he said that his life was far simpler when he was working "in the world" than in the years he has been a C.O.

What are the local Elders to do without the DO's and CO's around. That's almost a whole season without the help of the DO's and CO's to run to when they have a problem they can't handle without them , such as Judicial Meetings during that time period. And won't they feel left out.Are they in for another school also to play catch up with the DO's and CO's.How many of them will finally leave after this 10 week B.S. school is over with. All they will really come away with is:1919, 1919, 1919,1919, 1919, 1919,1919,1919,1919,1919.Yes 10 1919's for each week of the school. When they return to the circuit every answer to every question will be 1919!
