Mulan. The same thing happened to CJ and I. Only we had been celebrating for years, and we had a 3 foot diameter wreath on the front of the house and garland and lights on the front fence, so we were not being subtle.
It didn't seem to be a problem, until we attended a funeral for my uncle in another congregation, and were invited to stay afterwards (by an elder I might add) for refreshments. Seems that there were too many there, who were very happy to see us. Days later, I get a call from an elder, announcing that we had had to attend a Judicial Committee in 2 days, because it has come to light that we were celebrating Halloween and Christmas.
Be prepared. A visit or call may be next.

You had to attend a JC?? Geeze, last time I checked, we lived in a democracy with freedom of religion and we're under no obligation to attend anything of the sort. What a bunch of assholes.
What I'd like to know is this: Seeing as Brother Russell celebrated Christmas knowing full well that it was a pagan holiday, why was he still allowed to be part of the 144,000 who is now (supposedly) reigning in heaven right next to Jesus? According to the present GB, nothing pisses Jesus off more than people who celebrate His birthday on December 25. Does this mean that when Brother Russell got to heaven that Jesus berated him for this most blasphemous sin?? If not, then why are elders sitting in judgement on people here on earth who are doing the same thing??

It was bound to happen some day, so we are fine about it.
The elders that are talking are in a nearby congregation, and six months after the fact. It doesn't look to me like they are in a hurry to do anything. I just think it's funny they are talking about it now.

If this is a two witness thingy to see your xmas tree rule.
Tell um that there is also a rule that they have to see two christmas trees up (at the same time) before they can enforce any laws.
You seem a long way from being a J.W. anymore.. but I know ,.. it irks you to think that they may have been watching your house. Peeping poopy pantsers..
They have been known to stake out peoples houses for sure. It is a common tactic of the J.W. elders where I live.
Maybe next christmas you could send this elder guy a BIG Christmas card to rub his nose in.

Hi Marilyn. Sounds like things are a little interesting around your place these days....
Unfortunately for most of us who have left the JW cult without being df'd or da'd, the JW's who know us don't forget about us, and will always look for something to get us officially kicked out. It's in their mindset, especially if they know or hear things about us they can't prove. They obviously know Princess and family celebrate everything, so I bet they assume you and Dave do to....they just haven't been able to prove it officially yet....hence the reason why the window washer was accusing you.
It kills me that they can't ever get over the fact that people can leave on their own.....they have to officially kick them out so as to prove to themselves that they are right in their beliefs. I'm sure they will be watching your place carefully this Christmas, especially Mr. window washer.
Anyway, we miss seeing you guys and hope we can get together again to see everyone. We were sorry we had to miss the last party. Say hello to Dave for us and we'll see you soon.

besides he is doing what he is SUPPOSE TO DO - if she was a Pioneer sister and was slated to handle and interview at this summers district conventions, and while out in service saw a christmas tree in the house of an Elder, come on most of us would have have made a bee line to the nearest elder to inform
this poor sap did what he was trained to do, and that is why we have to learn to LET GO-
