I have the Queen in my coins yet I am not able to work in the UK. Screw the royals.

Its a damn sight harder to emmigrate to Canada from the UK than it is the other way round - hence we are going to Australia

Most people in the UK want a republic as the days of grace and favour are an anachronism we can well do without. I really think that when the queen dies we shall see a major overhaul of the monarchy as Prince Charles seems to be alot more switched on to how people feel about the over priviledged. Charles has an independant income from the Duchy of Cornwall and I would not be surprised if the civil list shrank a great deal when he becomes king. As for Canada, it makes perfect sense for you to ditch the monarchy and stay in the commonwealth.

I love our monarchy.

Think it is much better then a republic.

Every president of a republic seemes to fill his pocket - and he has only a few years to do it. (think off all that african dictators)

The monarch is most of the time already loaded and don't need to steel that amount to get rich.

And I like the glamour of a royal family......

ofcourse the government has to be democratic and a king or queen shoul'dnt have to much power. (or nothing at all like the Swedish royalties - who are adopted French ones by the Wasa's)

So, in stead of a republic, why not going for your own royal family. When you can't find a suitable Canadian, look around over the border. There are 6 milliard people on earth, surely you can find some ?

the Queen Mother is said to have supported the apartheid system in South Africa that discriminated against black people, been opposed to women priests, (paradoxically) hated Germans, and been anti-Semitic ("anti-Semitic" means that a person is prejudiced against Jewish people)
