I remember a couple of times in the past when they 're-organized'... they never really tell the masses that it is to avoid paying taxes (or to confuse any potential litigation, by creating so many organizations). I think Bradley is right. They are a non prophet but for profit organization. They should get the most bang for their buck. If they stopped thinking about money I might have to reconsider leaving. . . . . . . or not.

Anyway, the GeeBees think the R&F couldn't handle those little things called facts that you mentioned, like taxes and litigation. It's just soo much easier to say that they're simplifying. . . again and again and again. Besides how would the FDS (Fully Disturbed Slave) ever get any "new light" if God didn't use the evil governments to impose taxes on them?

Just my luck they will next move their entire headquarters to Canada onto the 66 acre site in the Georgetown Ontario area.

What about all the brothers and sisters that have spent all their lives in Bethel and now have to get out and find real jobs? Will they be afforded retraining skills to help find new jobs? What if they are too old? What type of pensions will they have to support them with? I remember someone saying how Ray Franz after 50 or 60 years in the full time service work was given a few thousand dollars when he was kicked out of bethel.

The last I knew, there was a legal hurdle on using the "farm" for non-farming activities, specialy for an industrial plant. There was a legal document...I'll dig it out.

I find it hard to believe that any religious organization, esp. one that woulds to the teachings that homosexuality is immoral, would move to Canada. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Canada have "politically incorrect speech" enforcement codes?

I do find a Walkhill closing to be unrealistic for they did just spend so much money remodeling and adding on. Also, I'm not sure who would buy such a thing. A weird mix of factory type buildings, farms, and apartments. It would have to be some crazy cult like the Branch Davidians, oh wait a cult already owns it. I do think that that Walkhill must be losing it's advantages. Even when I was there in 2000, they were already starting to downsize some of the farming they did there. They have to be losing money on the whole farming thing, especially when you consider how cheaply you can buy food instead of taking care and housing hundreds and hundreds of Bethelites so they can make milk. Does that make sense?

I agree with Jim,fiscal conservativness is commenable,esp if it frees up more ca$h to pay off the abuse claims.Why is the WT$ doing it?
