You like to pull his chain, too?

No, ya chump, I was saying "Amen" to this:

Funny how the far majority of Christian denominations (containing the majority of theological scholars) seem to settle on the "Deity of Christ" and the "Trinitarian God" as foundational doctrines.

Now, where woz I? Oh yes, I have to agree with this too, LT:

The deity of Christ was the main thing for me, too.

Funny how such things have led many away from the Borg!

    Cheers, Ozzie

    Ozmeister,

I believe if you were to walk into ANY christian church, and ask the pastor ' what he felt was the most important teaching in the scriptures'...he would tell you it was salvation through faith in christ.........not the diety of christ or whether the trinity must be believed. Yes.....they stress the latter, but it not their fundamental teaching. Do you agree?

I agree that you've correctly identified "the most important teaching" of the Christian church, but I think you'll find that the "fundamental" teachings usually include the deity of Christ, too. The deity of Christ is a "given" when they talk about salvation, though I wouldn't personally question someone's faith if they hadn't yet arrived at this point.

It's first of all a relationship. IMHO, after that we pick up the pieces of trying to understand it

    How's your relationship, today?

Did you travel the coasts of Scotland?

No, Just in and around the base. A little town called Dunoon. I remember a parade called the "cow games" ?? Kilts and all. I would take weekend leave and go to Glasgow and Edinborough.

I seem to remember getting the opportunity to have a brief tour aboard a US Sub that came into port in the Hebrides, in the early 80's.
It'd be a funny coincidence if you were aboard it!

No, dont recall that. We did surface off the coast of Iceland to Medi-vac a guy to his wife who had complications with a birth. That was in sept. ' 85

Well, Gumbo old son, I've walked into many, many churches and spoken at some too, and yes, of course you're right!

However.......(don't you love that Watchtower word?).......the deity of Christ is part of the christian's declaration of faith. In the church that I regularly fellowship with, we include such a declaration (either in the form of the Nicene Creed or the Apostles' Creed) in each service.

    Cheers, Ozzie
