i am not ankle kicking but far more devout christians than the GB has advocated much worse things in times past and arguablity present. Notice most of their excuses they say is from sinning and being fallible. Now you can argue enforcing the blood issue or dfing could be listed under pride or haughtyness or a number of sins. Also you can argue that all this is suggestions and they are free to give their piece of mind. So while you may think they are not very christ like it would take much debate to make them any worse that the christian that is murderer or robber or what ever. Few people unilaterally bust the murderers on about not being "true christians".

    That's true, but................

those robbers or muderers or whatever were not doing those things as part of their religious devotions, were they? They weren't robbing or murdering in the name of their God.

Whenever I hear Christians talk about Jesus, I have to scratch my head and wonder what they're feeling when they describe that "he is the way." I haven't met many Christians who can succinctly define just what that means. At least JWs have a systematic and tangible devotion to Jesus/God.

Last year, I went to the afternoon part of the Friday District Covention, and the Name of Jesus was only mentioned 5 times in several hours worth of talks.

BUT it lacked the one essential thing and that is point to Jesus as the Savior.

So did the Old Testement, .....funny how more than half a book leaves out the finale character.

Ya, it's tough, even though i spent 2 yrs in that. Some of the churches i went to would worship, praise, love jesus so much that we got into a group high. Many felt that they were all individualy closely connect to jesus, like in that thread w the pictures of jesus helping out and cheering on. They believe that as a group, they are his bride.

One person told me that he had a vision where he was in heaven as one of a huge crowd, all gathered around worshipping jesus on his throne. In the next instant, it was him on the throne, and jesus saying to him, w pride and happiness, 'you made it'.

I asked him, 'where was god, did you see him?' He said that god wasn't there.

It appears to be the experience of mixing/merging of identities w jesus, or perhaps exchanging identities w him. Of course, it says nothing regarding whether jesus really exists or not.

Many of them imagined themselves to be walking talking kings/queens, as they were one w jesus, who was king of the the whole universe.

Truthseeker,- The book?s main thrust is to encourage JWs to follow Jehovah and do His will. How would one follow Jehovah? Well, Jehovah has a visible earthly organization, that?s how. Follow the organization and you would be following Jehovah. Do the will of the organization and you would be doing Jehovah?s will.

The Greatest man book also serves up another problem for the Jay dub:

    GMB page 133 last pargraph,

"So it was in 1914 that Jesus returned invisibly, without public fanfare and with only his faithful servants being aware of his return....."

    Really??

    pg.212

    The Harp of God (1921)

In this chapter we hope to prove the fact of the Lord?s return, how he will return, when, and for

what purpose, and that he has already come.

"The latter part of "?the time of the end" Jesus designates as a time of harvest, because he says: "The

harvest is the end of the world [age]". He stated that he would be present at that time. From 1874 forward is

the latter part of the period of "the time of the end". From 1874 is the time of the Lord?s second presence,

    as above stated...."

    236

The Harp of God to the harvest of the gospel age, and we do find it Counting three and a half years from

1874, the time of his presence, brings us to 1878. During the presence of the Lord from 1874 to 1878 he was

making preparation for the harvest of the gospel age.

So is the folling quote from the GMB true?

    GMB page 133 last pargraph,

"So it was in 1914 that Jesus returned invisibly, without public fanfare and with only his faithful servants being aware of his return....."

Just like if you read some christian literature that's very into the trinity they'll never say he was the Son of God even though it says it but oh well.

I have to wonder how much trinitarian literature you have actually read. Have you gotten everything you know about the teaching of the Trinity from Watchtower publications? Trinitarians fully acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God. However, as a human son fully shares the human nature of his father (i.e., a son is every bit as much a human being as his father), Jesus shares fully the divine nature of His Father, and is therefore God himself. I've never seen any trinitarian literature that denies that Jesus is both Son of God and Son of man (both of which terms he claimed for himself).

And what the hell is with that phrase they use at the end of every prayer "throught THE OFFICE of your son Jesus Christ? Like it's not even Jesus anymore, just some administrative staff of Jehovah.
