Journey reminds me of my current.
"Open Arms" is going to be our wedding song. If me and her split up, that song would really [edit] me up, especially since I produced a version of her singing it.

The song, or professionally recording her singing it?
Stefanie,
music has such an impact on our lives. Even if it is crap songs it will always take us back in time.
I still get teared up in some of the kingdumb melodies. Baptism songs, My shulamite maiden..so lovely and boring.......
When I hear bye bye American pie, took my chevy to the levy..er I wont finish the last part cuz my kids dad said that was me........LOL
Anyway, music is a part of us, if it touches you and helps you get over the past, that is good. If it reminds you of the past, stop listening. It took me a decade to get over some of the songs, no song bothers me anymore.
This too will pass.
Regards
Recording her singing it. I have always wanted to do that.
151 complicated as relationships are, so are the arrangment of your smilies. Point well taken.

There's a bit of a sad side to that, though. What we were actually doing is recording a CD of us singing some of our favorite songs, making copies, and giving them out to people at the wedding.
She's also in a band. Shortly after we finished recording our project (which in my opinion turned out very well), her band had to go into the recording studio to record a song. They charge $10 to record a karaoke song. She ended up getting studio head, and stated that she didn't want to do anymore recording unless it was in the studio. A bit of a blow to something that I worked so hard on. However, I'll be continuing to record my own stuff.
I've got my version of "Rebel Yell" on my website, which was recorded during those sessions.
Journey here also along with most Rod Stewart stuff. The Cult. Many others also. In fact I guess just about anything she loved I felt somewhat obligated to hate for a long time! There are some songs I doubt I'll ever listen to again though...too bad, too sad. Right now I'm listening again to songs from way back when (Doors are once again a current fav for some odd reason) and trying to recapture a sense of "anything is possible". Starting over.
Sorry Nos.
ya gotta love a guy that can relate Pantera's "walk" to women...lol. And you're right...Cowboys from Hell is a great album too...
