I do think that ive had it a bit easier than most. Being that I dont listen to 'chick-music' or R+B stuff when I do break up with someone odds are im not going to hear a song that she liked

I can honestly say that there are absolutely no songs that are tainted with the nemonic discomfort of my ex. I am free to enjoy with the same measure of pleasure those songs I knew when I was with her.
Whoaaaaa, holy shit! We just had an earth quake!

I'm dead inside so hearing music doesn't really have a powerful emotional effect on me. Fast music gets me in an excited state, and slow music has the opposite effect. My ex's don't make me cry so the songs that remind me of them don't either.

Whatever was the "popular songs of the summer of 1978", sorry there are just to many to list. So for me, I just turn the radio off....I can't stand to be reminded that I married such a terrible man, that took advantage of me.
Music is a part of my life....I can identify the music with what was going on in my life. Always have and will continue to do so.

So this little boy is taking a bath and he points at his penis and says, "Mommy, is that my brain?" and the mom replies, "not yet sweetie.."

King of Wishful Thinking by Go West reminds me of some JW girl I liked when I was 14. I gave her the cassette single of that song after the meeting once (it was her favorite song at the time).

I never had a girlfriend before so I can't really say ex. However, the song "Stan" by Eminem, cause it reminds me of how I get obcessed about things to the point where I want to kill myself and other people at times.
Man I'm such a downer.

The Cult's "I've Still Got Your Face Painted on My Heart" from Gone in 60 Seconds, reminds me of an Ex. It was a lovely sweet, tender, moment in his truck, in the mountains, on a summer's evening with a sky bright with stars. Everytime I hear that song I will forever remember that moment.
I'm still a Morrissey and The Cure fan, but it does remind me of my ex-fiance, he was a freak about them. That's ALL we EVER listened to.
editted to add that I'm such a softy sometimes *sob*

One song that I can't hear without being reminded of my ex is "Whoomp: There it is". Not for any romantic reasons, obviously. There was a worldly guy I dated briefly while I was still a witness, trying to work up the courage to leave. This guy was in the Navy, but moonlighted as a stripper. "Whoomp" was his signature song that he played at the start of his routine (which I never got to see). Now I hear it every time I go to aerobics class, and the instructor can't figure out why I always get the giggles- some day, I'll have to tell her it makes me picture my ex shaking the only beautiful thing he had in strangers' faces for beer money.
