You Know(nothing),
The WTS claims authority and spokesmanship on these matters. They know about as much as you, which is nothing!!!

You Know,
You said: "For the same reason that the spirit-led apostles had it concealed from them that the Christ was going to be killed and that the kingdom was not going to instantly display itself as they imagined."
You are still talking about the disciples before they were anointed and led by holy spirit. Besides, as long as Jesus was on earth his disciples would not be 'spirit-led,' as they were being taught by him personally. He told them he would send the holy spirit after he left as shown at John 14:26; 15:26, 27.

Amazing,
Great thread! Great responses from you and others! Your title sucks!
: IS THE WTS a PROVEN FRAUD?
This is a typical WT/Awake title. No risks, no dares. Just a simple question. Normally the article makes its own slant on the "question," but still the title is wimpy. You made the point yourself and Alan and others helped buttress it. You must still have a little Watchtower left in you Amazing, or even worse, you are pandering to those who have a LOT of Watchtower left in them by using such a title.
You (IMNSHO) SHOULD have entitled your thread: "THE WTS IS A PROVEN FRAUD! PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION, AND I'LL SHOW YOU WHY!"
I know, I'm nit-picking, but still it is a worthwhile nit-picking, maybe? I am so sick of that crap from the society that "asks" a question when they already have the answer neatly and deceptively packaged in the article inside.
Sigh.
Farkel
Hi Farkel: You have a good point about the title. I could even change it now. The subject lin is short, and at the time, a short question seemed better, but I agree that it was more of a rhetorical question wherein the answer was arleady decided upon. It was not a queston intennded for debate. But, it was inspired by another thread of exchanges with You Know - so the 'question' format was more for his benefit. - Amazing

To which you replied,

Your argument above shows the real flaw of the WTS and Jehovah's Witnesses' claim to be of the anointed like first century followers of Jesus, while having to admit their constant blundering with the date and teaching of 1914...now for some 120 years!
Why did CT Russell and followers blunder so much with that date...if he and others were "led by the spirit", as Romans 8:14-16 shows?
Why?
Neither CT Russell & company, with all of his pyramidology, nor modern-day Jehovah's Witnesses have been "anointed" with God's spirit by any stretch of the imagination. It is a ridiculous assumption to start with, and your argument proves it.
They are nothing like first century followers of Jesus, AFTER their anointing at Pentecost. -- 2 Peter 1:16; 1 John 2:20; 27; 3:3

It will be difficult for You Know to respond specifically to this situation. This is a historical fact. The WTS' use of the date of 1914 for over 120 years with all the "adjustments" and changes associated with that date over the years.

Exactly!
Now that You Know is back in town, let's see if he comes back with any response to the above.
