At this point I'm almost hoping that Nuke hits some major Western city so we will all finally get our heads out of our asses and realize what we need to do.

What ... to legitimise your own extremist actions?
I think this shows some true motives. You care little about people and everything about your own ideology.

What ... to legitimise your own extremist actions?
Which extremist actions are those you speak of? Is it the seeking out of and killing of terrorists?
That's what they have over the West, they are willing to die for their cause...we seem unwilling to KILL them for it.

So you get to the point you'd like to have them nuking some major western city so YOUR STRATEGY TO GET RID OF THOSE PEOPLE WOULD BE OK ...
Ooops seems that you were not the first one to have that idea ... WHO IS WHO ? ... and Ooops you didn't have any good reason to get in war with them and moreover WHO GOT INTO MASS MURDER SYSTEM (WAR - BOMBING CITIZENS) ... and ... and ... and ...
Now maybe should you realised at least what you are talking about ?

yeru, we seem unwilling to KILL them for it.
you mean like 2 days ago where a US helicopter bombed a house in falludja killing over 30 people?!
if you take all killings into account the US is 100 times ahead of the terrorists even if they do it in a more "civilized" way.

Yeru said::: Hillary_Step made the point that exactly this sort of behavior is at the root of Christianity. Since Christianity arose from Judaic roots, and the Old Testament describes the Jews as doing exactly the same things to their enemies as Muhammad prescribed that Muslims do to their enemies, his point is correct.
: Christianity was a peaceful and persecuted religion for it's first 300 + years, and it's founder was a man of peace killed violently.
It was, but that still doesn't address my point that Christianity's roots are violent. It also didn't have any political power to enforce its will. But history shows that once Christianity -- in the form of the Catholic Church -- got full political power, it reverted to its violent roots. It stayed with those roots until at various times in various countries in the last few hundred years, political power was forcibly removed from it. This holds true as well for any Protestant sects that got power. And we know perfectly well that any Protestant sects that would get such power back, as well as the Catholic Church if it managed to regain its historical political power, would all turn violent. That's because their God is a god of violence, just as Allah is. "Kill the unbelievers" is what virtually all of these people would do if given the chance. If you disagree, then you're ignoring history.
: The Jews haven't practiced this in over 2000 years.
Only because they didn't hold political power. Who was it that was behind the killing of Jesus?

The Romans were behind the killing of Jesus, and a few Jews, not the Jewish nation. The roots of Christianity are NOT violent. Besides, regardless of what the PAST had for any of the major religions, the fact is we are in the 21st century, Murder because of religion is unacceptable in this day and age.
Surrealist,
Let me know when the US starts targeting innocent civilians...ok.

yeru, Let me know when the US starts targeting innocent civilians...ok.
in the last 50 years over and over again. millions.
currently it would remove the last shred of legitimacy the US pretends to have for this war.
nevertheless the US targets building where terrorists supposedly hide thereby killing primarily civilians. tell me, does the US blow up condominiums in the US if they expect a criminal to hide in there? i don't think so.
the US gov. allowed the torture of prisoners (in iraq and guantanamo)! something they use to portray hussein as a monster.
the word hypocrisy might come to mind.

Realist,
First, clean your computer.
Second, JESUS H. CHRIST how did you ever live to adulthood? Terrorists are not criminals...they are murderers. That's the problem with your ilk, you want to treat terrorists like common criminals...this approach has never worked.
We are in a fight for our very survival, but you don't realize that.
Go explain all your naivete to this young South Korean's family.

I don't really think the 'Isalm is evil' possee are going to change their minds, so I can't see the point in trying.
They are so attached to their opinions that even when the facts they use to back up the opinions (such as the old "Islam is an intrinsically violent religon" opinion much beloved of the ignoranti) are shown to be distortions or downright false, they do not change their opinions.
Rather than characteristing the issue as good law-abiding people against bad law-breaking people, religious extremists or bigots on either side make it a conflict of religions.
Just as the Wahhabis see no hope of a peaceful co-existence with non-Muslims, so too do extremist Christians and misinformed religious bigots see no hope of peaceful co-existence with Muslims. It is a pity we can't stick all the extremists on an island and leave them to their own hate-filled little world.
Fortunately the majority of people in the Islamic world do not favour the actions of their violent minority, just as the majority of people in the West do not favour the policies put forward by our intolerant and massively ignorant minority.
At least many Wahhabis have excuses for their ignorance. Few Westerners do.
The Wahhabi doctrines attract people from cultures under pressure; polarised, defiant, 'traditonalistic' beliefs always attract people who feel their way of life is under attack. Look at the fundamental Christians in the USA, for example. Just as modern humaistic and scientific values have generated a backlash amongst fundamental Christians clinging to the myths, intolerance and misogyny of former centuries, so too has modern Western society generated a backlash amongst the worst off of the Muslim cultures.
We were ignorant enough, in the West, to think we could make barbarians immensely rich without problems. We thought it was okay to be democratic at home but to support the most convenient dictator or feudal despot for our political agendas. We thought we could chop up the world according to our interests and not suffer any negative reprecussions in the years to come.
We've truely reaped the whirlwind.
Now, as ever there are idiots getting semi-hard-ons at the thought of incinerating innocent men women and children. Some of them are Muslims. Some of them are Christians. Some of them are just morons. But they are all scum.
Let us in the West take the battle to those who would do harm to innocent people and keep it away from the innocent. If we don't we are just as bad Muslims who kill innocent people, or Christians, Jews, Hindus, atheists, whatevers that kill innocent people.
