"commend", as in a pompous P.O. standing before the congregation and saying "We'd like to commend you brothers for <BLAH>."
I also hated (as someone else said) "interested ones." I recently did a newspaper article for a church and ended up using the term (it was the only one I could think of that made 'politically correct' sense) and my flesh crawled that I did.
I didn't like "friends." Most of the people saying it didn't know me, didn't care to get to know me, and had no concept of what being a friend entails. Don't call me your friend unless you have a clue! And certainly not from the platform as part of your diatribe to "commend" me before you hit me between the eyes with another requirement....
i'm not a big fan of "goats" either. call me crazy...
"Jehovah God"
Is he Jehovah or God? Is God a surname?
Are they deliberately omitting a middle initial?

Hello everyone
I like ?the end is near (just around the corner)? Or, I heard this over lunch this week ?the air is just heavy now, you can just feel the end in the air (something is in the air).? I have heard these same phrases for 30 years now. Verbatim no less.
I recall after 9/11 my father told me they got a report from above that because of ?recent world events? (another buzz phrase) the society was not even going to plan the 2003 District Convention because ?the end was so close?. They just went to the 2004 District Convention, guess it wasn?t that close after all.
Back in the mid 90's my grandmother was so happy to say, ?the end is not years away now, it?s just months? I wonder 1080 months is really, just months.

I remember I used to get freaked out by this one
"The Society" doesent that just sound creepy. Big brother is watching
Add to the list:
``buy out the opportune time"
(In prayers) ``give us a portion of your spirit" (which portion: white meat or dark?)
(In prayers) ``give us a portion of your spirit" (which portion: white meat or dark?)
This one almost made me wet my pants!!!! ROFL
