This reminds me of getting inactive and DF'd people to the Memorial. JWs think that that all the love and HS will convince them it is "the truth." Actually, it reminds them why they left.

Well Min.........this wedding could well signify the Anti-typical marriage of something from Genesis to Revelation. According to bible prophecy, your daughter is the modern-day Queen of Sheba-Class; your future son-in-law would obviously then be the modern-day, anti-typical King Solomon Class. This means absolutely squat, but it sounds very impressive.

Also, if they're courtship and engagement began about a year and a half ago, this could well signify the 70-weeks of years. Also, after 2,520 days, their marriage will go through an "abomination" for not getting 10 hours of Service in, and one of them will probably be smote by the Lord Jesus.

How thankful you should be that I have the wisdom to discern this spiritual marriage as Food at the Proper Time!!!

It's always interesting to see the convoluted reasoning that takes place among dubs when they attempt to explain the sudden departure of elders, pioneers, or steady publishers from the organization.

They cannot imagine the blame rests on the organization (after all, that's "the truth"), so they have to come up with some oblique reason (it's his daughter, marrying that worldly guy).

The alternative is to be confronted with the fact that their "God-directed" organization has flaws and is filled with hypocrisy and a lack of Christian love, which is what really drives folks away. Since that explanation flies in the face of all they are taught, the only alternative is to look at individual imperfection and blame everything on some wretched human being.

There was a WT article a couple of years ago on discouragement or something of that sort and I remember it well because at the time my daughter was planning on marrying a non-JW guy (lots of your probably know this story, but she was never baptized nor had she ever become a JW, but because of my association and raising her that way she was guilty by association. Anyway, it caused a big stir in the congo and the elders stepped in and things got really ugly, but it woke me up even more as I had already begun having major doubts).

So back to this article--towards the end of it was a paragraph about how if your loved one chooses to marry someone outside of the faith how painful it would be for you--how it would make you feel like you wanted to die. It was really an awful paragraph, which was supposed to instill in the mind how horrible it was for someone to marry an unbeliever and what agonizing pain it caused their witness relatives. I left the congo shortly after that--some assumed that I went into some deep depression over my daughter's marriage and was so distraught over it that I went off the deep end. Actually, it was quite the opposite--I was very happy over her marriage. Anyway, does anyone remember this article? Maybe this is where some people got this idea about you Min--that you were so distraught that you have been in hiding over your situation and now when it comes to pass you will stand back on your feet and seek ~~refuse~~ refuge once again in the WTBTS Org.

I knew him better than he knew me......Mary, I sent your comments and the thread to my daughter's email.....Sista, I recall that comment. Disgusting......Sunshine, I'm inactive and am out in that respect. More and more JWs are talking about it!....Willy, they simply couldn't bear to believe that anyone would WANT to leave...HA!
